Not much to say about these sound-isolating
earbuds that hasn't been said about most every sound-isolating earbuds to come before them, but we'll give it our best shot.
TEAC's inCore Audio ZE-1000 earbuds have 5-layer silicon ear pads for comfort and sound isolation, and with hi-definition balanced armature drivers (two in each ear) they deliver "natural" textures and "thrilling" dynamics. Also, were you aware that TEAC has been around for more than 50 years? We sure weren't. No word on price or availability, but the 'buds do include small, medium and large ear pads for mama, papa and baby bear.

I'd like some company to make translucent silicone sleeves and make the left one blue and the right one red. It's so hard to figure out which one goes in which ear and with color-coded in-ear sleeves no-one's going to notice them until you take it out. And even then it will look cool. Though the in-earbuds have to cost about $40.

V-Moda's "Vibe" in-ears come with white and black eartips. I stuck a black one on the left one, and a white on the right. Works for me. I definitely agree that multi-color eartips should become a standard practice though. The Vibe isn't in your $40 price range, but they're nice earphones.

i got those sony ones and the ones that come with the sony ericsson and i flat out hate them. not becuse of the sound quality which is pretty awsome i admit, and im no sony hater or anything its just that they would feel like i had something stuck in my ear and like it would push the wax deeper in! And after a while it began to itch and it felt funny cuz im addicted to my ipod and my mp3 and after a while of using there it felt uncomftable. i got me an ipod earphones. i mentioned the sony ones because their the onlyone i know but any other earphone like that actually. just my 2 cents!

Have you tried the other sizes of tips on the sonys? I was fine with the medium size, but in reading reviews I noticed that this much improved the comfort and sound quality for many people because it held them in better.
TEAK has been around for a while, and looking at their wiki I discovered that Tascam is also a division of theirs. Interesting.

I am 100% convinced that the ribbing will gunk up with earwax.

The silicon tips are terrible, no matter which brand you buy from. If you are considering this type of headphone, you'd do well to buy from either Shure, Etymotics, or (this last one is more of an entry level company) V-Moda. All of these brands come with the foam earpieces that actually make wearing these things comfortable.
While I wouldn't give up my Beyerdynamic headphones for anything, nothing can beat the level of sound blocking that a proper pair of these earphones can do.
