Of all the things still lacking an iPod dock -- La-Z-Boys, parkas, and the
Foleo -- you can cross off your flat-panel, as JVC has added an iPod dock to their P-Series line of LCD televisions. The iPod TeleDock sits at the bottom of the set, ready to accept your player for charging even when the set is turned off. Video and audio playback can be controlled with the clickwheel-esque TV remote and on-screen menus. The P-Series features 720p on the 32-inch LT-32P679, while the 42-inch LT-42P789, 47-inch LT-47P789, and 52-inch LT-52P789 sets bump the resolution up to 1080p, with availability starting in March.
I'm not looking forward to TRY and sell these. I a JVC sales military rep for the BX. I'm going to have these in the store for ever. It's hard enough trying to get people to stop talking about the XBR4's. I'll only be ordering 2 or so at a time.
i dont think these will catch on
yeah, i get that feeling too. but hush hush, dont say it loudly, or the ipod fanatics will bitch you like crazy.
who in their right, sane mind would want to stick a little fruity pod infront of this gorgeous looking screen.
I know for a fact that there are two types of jackets with ipod docks, the first is the Burton 35k material from a few years ago with soft controls on the wrist and the second is the Bergans of Norway Nordkapp jacket with both ipod certified integration AND bluetooth. Talk about talented

You mean I can't connect my ZunePhone360 to it?! Damn...
iPod fanboy: Hey, this is a cool object!
(Two months later)
angry iPod fanboy: No!!! I just bought the newest iPod yesterday. TV Syncing is no longer compatible unless I buy a $50 Dock syncing device, which will be released in two months. Now I have a useless dock connector stuck in front of the TV.
Exactly. JVC shouldn't do this, but perhaps release a separate dock so that it's optional, and new docks can be released for future iPods.
And why don't TV's have USB yet, i want to upload and play videos the easy way!
agreed. I had to buy a $50 and a $30 dock for my iphone. Why the dock that came with the iPhone didn't support the video cables that came out just a few months later, I do not know. I used my $100 rebate on them though, so it wasn't a complete loss by any means.
@Jamma: Because it helps pirates, duh. "Download a movie illegally, put it on a USB transfer device and plug it into your TV". It isn't going to put TV manufacturer X in the Media industry good books, is it?
I have every gen of ipod since they have a dock connector and they all work with every dock style of a\v products since then, so why would this not work for years to come with future gens of ipods.
@Matt,
I was doing satire based on the iPod classic.
On the 5g and 5.5g, consumers were allowed to use a 10-20 dollar cable to hook to their TV's. But when the Classic came out, angry consumers were forced to use cables with some Apple chip in them, which cost $50. Those who bought the cheap cable had to buy the new expensive cable.
My point is, if they did that with the TV out/headphone jack connector, who's to say they won't force you to buy their product using the dock connector for their next iPod?
That's not to mention some of the accessories they came out with previous iPods you had to wait several months for.
Wow! the ugly fest from CES 2008 continues... Matsushita Electric should seriously terminate the people involved in this year's HDTV design. The Panasonic Line ups are ultra ugly and JVC's Stick-an-I-"Puck" isn't far behind. Downgrade!
This is the SECOND HDTV with an I-"puck" interface., Viewsonic has/had one or two models last year which didn't got much interest from consumers what make this thing be more desirable? Did I mention that is ugly?, yeah I did.
