I dislike the look. A better development of graffiti would have been better than adding qwerty to a palm... These dumb decisions are what brought the company down.
gfunk: I'm not saying they're not down now (I've finally traded in my long line of Treos (600,650,700p,755) for an iPhone), but I think that their use of the keyboard and phone integration was what has kept them (barely) afloat the last several years.
Dorv: Yeah, I agree with you about the phone integration. But I still get angry about lack of innovation by the company. Putting windows mobile on palms wasn't innovation, it was desperation. I remember the palm Vx's days...
I just want one...please? I've been waiting for the next iteration of the Palm Treo for months...my 700wx is getting tired and tempermental. Yes, it's no iPhone in terms of design, but it'll be an intuitive, dependable phone (for about 12 months).
be happy you have the wX!!! i have the w... im constantly having to reboot my phone!! only 1/2 the operating memory your's has! it's rediculous.. god forbid i surf the web with my unlimited data plan too.. i get through 2 or 3 pages and it locks up .. REBOOT!!... sucks bigtime! if nokia made an n95 for cdma for verizon (work phone) then i'd drop this trash like a dirty habit and happily plop down my 500-600 clams for one!!
I changed from 5 years using Palm to Blackberry and I really miss the simple OS. I love Palm but now I'm using a BB Pearl and I can't wait the hour to change to a new device.
better question: what was that phone that was behind bill for so long that looked like it was about the thickness of a credit card and appeared to be full touch screen smartphone?
I like it better than the centro, and it probably has a bigger keyboard. Maybe Palm isn't dead after all (they haven't made any very "New" devices until the centro)
Maybe, but it certainly doesn't have a "Flush screen" as the BGR slides indicate. This one clearly has a bezel. Still, it looks to me clearly to be a replacement for the 750 and I really doubt Palm has the resources to have two winmo pro treo's, so perhaps the picture is pre-production and will have a flush screen at launch, perhaps the BGR slides are fake or faulty, or perhaps both (or neither).
Hmm, or perhaps this is the CDMA replacement for the very long-of-tooth 700wx (the 800w?) and the Drucker is the replacement for the GSM 750 (the 850w?). Seems silly to have different form factors, but I suppose it would follow precedent. It does, in fact, look quite a bit like the 800w pics we saw a while back, just perhaps tweaked (for better or worse?):
i have a centro, and i've enjoyed the palm OS since the IIIc. i never understood putting windows mobile on a palm device. it's like qualcomm's snapdragon prototypes that don't run snapdragon... lol!!!

Yep, this is the same device we posted back in July 07, Sprints roadmap. It will have Wifi and GPS.
