Your good buddies at
Samsung UK are introducing a handful of new entries into its tried and true, compact NV line -- the NV40, NV30, NV4, and NV24HD. Most interesting of the lot is the latter, the NV24HD, which is the company's first HD still camera, a 10-megapixel shooter that also does 720p HD, and can send its juicy images via HDMI to your favorite HDTV. The NV40, on the other hand, is a 10-megapixel camera with 3 x zoom, ISO up to 3200, and a 2.5-inch LCD display. The NV30 is a similarly spec'd camera, but drops the resolution to 8-megapixels (though retains the company's ASR and red eye reduction features). The story is largely the same for the NV4, which the company claims is a "practical yet multipurpose" device. The NV24HD will run you £249 (or $491), the NV40 comes in at £199 ($392), £179 for the NV30, and the NV4 will run you £149 ($294). All in all, pretty boring!

Is it me or are none of those buttons labelled?

i have the nv10. the buttons are touch sensitive, so you can slide your fingers across it, and the buttons will show up on the screen next to it.

in all honesty, it's a really sweet system. I had the NV10 as well but it got dropped and I'm now sporting the NV7. Both take pretty good picture and the menu system is pretty simple to get used to and is especially more handy when taking multiple pictures in manual modes where the light can be drastically different when you turn 45 degrees. I found it pretty useful taking pictures in the wilderness and also in bars. You can get good pics in auto-mode but you can access better effects and settings and things quickly with that system and it's really handy. I'm humoring jumping up to this, I like it so much. Might wait for something with a better zoom though.

Even more cameras? Sheesh. You can't even get the NV8 in the US yet, and they announced that a good long time ago. (It was their only camera that looked interesting... 8mp on a big 1/1.72 CCD.

Pretty boring? Samsung NV24HD has an OLED screen...
Isn't a "2.5-inch AM-OLED Screen" the FIRST of its kind on such a camera?
Pretty boring, really ? We;;, personally I've long been hoping for better screen technology than these crappy LCDs!
