Though Sony Ericsson already has a couple phones out with support for North American 3G, you're feasting your eyes on the first and only Walkman branded handset to feature the sacred 850 and 1900MHz bands of HSDPA action. The W760 slider features quadband EDGE plus triband HSDPA, integrated GPS, FM radio, 3.2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick expansion, stereo speakers, and support for the "SensMe" technology recent handsets from the company have been rocking, allowing users to simply shake the phone to control music playback. No word on pricing, but it should launch in the second quarter of the year.

Unless they fixed all the flaws in their last slider walkman, I wouldn't expect many people to give a damn about this one, 3G or no 3G. The faulty keylock on my 580 has embarassed me at least 5 times this month alone by magically calling the last person who called me or I called anytime it shifts in my pocket just the right way.

Wow, I've had a W580i for at least 6 months and it never calls anyone accidentally. Maybe you need a firmware update?

Nearly identical to the W580i other then flat buttons and the camera is 3.2 instead of 2.0 and HSDPA

plus a slightly newer interface with call and end keys, newer walkman player, and (hopefully) a WORKING slide mechanism

I don't get the SensMe technology. You still have to press a button before shaking the thing. Why not just press the button only?

You can set it on the W580i to not require the button press, just like it should be (it obviously needs to be selectable because nearly everyone I tell about it asks "but what if you're jogging, doesn't it change the song?" and I explain, no, you can turn it off).

I have hint for you:
run walkman. than press: down arrow, down arrow, right arrow, walkman button and you can shake and shake and shake ;)
have a nice day

arwie is right, that little button sequence turns shake control on, to turn it off press up+up+left+walkman key, seriously, it actually works
