Sony refreshes Bravia line with 17 new models, Digital Media Extender

Sony's CES event is just finished, but they can't wait to give details on all 17 of the new Bravia LCD models. Falling into six different model lines (three pictured here), Sony has sprinkled its Digital Media Extender tech liberally throughout the releases, future technology and Bravia Link is an option down the road for all. The top end models consist of the KDL-40Z4100 and KDL-46Z4100, with new Bravia Engine 2, 120Hz image processing, x.v. Color, WCG-CCFL and 10-bit panels. The Z-series also throws in USB ports, DLNA connectivity and Bravia Sync HDMI control. Sony's got more HDTVs and we've got more specs (no prices, sorry!) so check after the break.

I told there were going to be lots of HDTVs: http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/01/predictions-for-2008/comments/9585146/
If this brings down the price on the V series bravia's I'd be happy. Do these still carry the goodness of the older Bravia's?

why no 32 inch , 1080p, 120hz??
This makes no sense. The XBR line is supposed to be Sony's top end line with all the features and the highest prices. Why is the XBR6 only available in smaller sizes and missing features?
I agree. XBR's usually command $500+ premiums but it seems to be getting the short end of it this time around?
I just put down a deposit for the X series, which is the UK version of the XBR. There have been lots of issues with the Engine Pro used, but I thought it is the top-end model, and they will sort it out (stock is delayed as they fix it). Only to find out the X is replaced as the flagship with the Z, and they are building a new Bravia 2 engine.
I am sure my TV will be great, but when you spend £2500 on a TV, you want it to be the flagship, and not know that it is outdated and inferior.
Is it just me or did anyone else think that there was going to be a crazy amount of LED LCD's with 500,00:1 or higher contrast? I know samsung has a whole line of ultra high contrast LED LCD's already on the market because I saw them at besy buy magnolia and they were by far better than any LCD I have seen. So whats with all these CCL panels anounced today? Power saving high contrast LED panels or CCL power hungry behemoths?
man, i was sure hoping to see a 60" from Sony this week. 52" just isn't quite big enough
Don't. Give. In.
Must. Hold. Out. Until. 2009.
why no sliver this time around black looks boreing
so i take the z series is there new high end strange no mention of a 52in. i wander if these will be led powered. hopefully best buys with mangolia will carry them so i can get my employee price, but it looks like 2009 might be hte best time to get a tv.
