Built NY prepping neoprene Laptop Back Pack
Built NY is fairly well known for its high-quality, snug-fitting notebook sleeves, but we're not sure if the company's neoprene addiction will play as well in the backpack form factor. Nonetheless, in order to celebrate what it claims is the 100th anniversary of the ubiquitous dual-strap sack, Built is releasing a bag called the Laptop Back Pack that looks a bit too form-fitting for our tastes. Expect the Kevlar vest lookalike -- in both 12- and 17-inch sizes -- to hit stores in April for $80.

Should be called "Built in NY". AKA a Bullet proof vest.

I thought and read it as "bullet proof vest"...

I have yet to see a laptop that can outsmart bullet.

That looks like it'll give a user who wears it for a long time a sweaty back. Ugh!
STUD HUNK @ Jan 7th 2008 7:01AM
DAMN, THAT'S SEXY!
Jhongerkong @ Jan 7th 2008 7:13AM
Unusable by 90% of Americans though. Unless it stretches or something...

well it is neoprene, personably I would be more worried about drenching my laptop in sweat!

What's the difference between a backpack and a knapsack again? I keep forgetting.

obviously who ever wrote this does not ride motorcycles, this is a nice bag for the guy who rides his motorcycle more than just on the weekends. and in europe..................
Donoho @ Jan 8th 2008 1:38PM
My thoughts exactly... well, maybe not exactly, but motorcycles and regular use were involved. And I just got back from Europe, but they're way too busy sporting scooters to be cool enough for this :p

I commute to New York City on Metronorth, and my #1 priority is *weight* - its really hard to find bags by weight, ebags is ok. I have been using this one which is only 14 ounces - it feels like its empty when I have it on:
