Hands-off with Panasonic's 150-inch behemoth

The percentage of returned gadgets that have nothing wrong with them.
Of the $13.8 billion worth of returned products in 2007, only 5 percent were because gadgets were actually broken, according to a 2008 study.

whats the height and width of this tv??
Were you one of the people in school who complained that they'll never need the math, so why bother learning it?
Remember, x squared times y squared equals 150 squared
16y = 9x, so x=(16/9)y, substitute in for x in the above.
Solve for y, then plug back into the second equation and solve for x
You get 130.74" x 73.54"
There... You never have to ask again!
(Give a man a fish... You know the rest)
I *KNEW* it wasn't 8' tall!!
that was entirely too much math for a non-classroom setting.
Good math, Ladderless - but that only gives the dimensions of the screen itself, not the screen plus casing. Screw the dimensions - I want to know the weight!
I like the idea. But to the average meaning (98%) of consumers this is a complete waste. Homes aren't built for these sizes.
This is more of a proof of concept that will go into limited production for the business/hardcore enthusiast crowd.
They are made for King and Queen and not for an average income joe like us.
in the fervor of showing someone up with your mad math skills, you misquoted pythagorean's theroem.
What do you mean homes are not built for this size? I'd love to have all 4 walls of my window less basement filled with these suckers.... and yes, it's not made for us right now, but as always prices will come down and blah blah...
suck it, I'm slipping the rep a $10 for it.

@ aurei-
No, I did that on purpose... It's fun to see people squirm when they try the math, themselves(!) No need disclosing ALL my secrets now, is there? ;-)
I know some homeless consumers who are gonna really love the box that this thing comes in. Cardboard mansion!
This would be great for COD4.
Hate the blue neon- does that come with?
The only way I could think of this being nicer than say like a 60" would be if you have a huge room, like trying to view it from 20' away
From what you can see, it looks like it's highly viewable from even 10' away. The resolution is 4k, meaning you'll have to get pretty close to see pixels. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't have much angular loss.
After looking at the pictures and getting scale into perspective, man, this thing would be phenomenal in person. Coupled with a good surround setup, it would really knock you on your ass. I don't think you could go back to watching regular tv after an experience like that.

A fiver?
I had no idea they made fifty thousand dollar bills!
50000? Keep going son..
Not that i have a clue what it will cost.
pr0n haven FTW!!!
a feast for the eyes indeed for the ultra horny pr0n addict brothers (and maybe sisters) of ours...
If there's one thing I -don't- want in ultra-high definition, it's a close-up of two (or more) people's private parts in action, with all the liquids and pores and hairs... *shudders* Thanks, you just ruined porn for me.
I think those people would've blown all the money on prositutes by now if they could've even remotely afforded it, don't you think?
it's a 12.5 foot screen, what do you expect? Do you get disappointed when you go to a theater and the screen doesn't look like a tv?
Suddenly 42 inches is the new 28 inches. That screen is really the future. Sadly it only fits in very few house holds. Heck it even displays a larger image than most projectors on the market.
I wonder how LG and Samsung will counter this?
A 42-inch would never fit in my flat. The 28-inch I have works fine when none of the seats are more than eight feet from the screen. ^_^
I have a $200,000 house, and have both the place and desire for this TV. Obviously at the moment it would rival the cost of my house, but if the price were reasonable I don't see that this is for the rich only.
Can I borrow some gas money?
Certainly, drive over and I'll give ya a fitty spot.
good luck on ur electricity bill if u get this tv.
Don't worry - it's powered by Magnets and Watch-quality Bearings!
or as doc from back to the future would say...it probably would need 1.21 jigawatts.
