Hands-on with Hitachi's 1.5-inch thin displays
Not to be outdone by what's shaping up to be the theme of the show when it comes to display technology this year, Hitachi launched their line of thin displays in 32-, 37-, and 42-inch sizes. Hitachi's 1.5-inch LCD displays may not match Pioneer or Panasonic in the sheer (lack of) depth column, but you will actually be able to buy these sets when they launch in the first part of 2008. And that's something impressive all by itself.

There you go, That's what I wanted to read "BUY THEM" as in a buy a real product that is schedule to me produce (hopefully not in Mexico), not like the fantasy Panathin shown.
If the 32" one has vesa mount and is under 10kg then I'm sold (I have an $80 wall bracket I can't bear to part with (damn my lack of sensible priorities))
Ok, at the rate this is going, one of these days someone is going to accidentally bump into their TV, pivot it around 90 degrees, and start thinking that someone stole their TV.
If a person with macular degeneration can inadvertently bump a high profile piece of furniture and rotate it exactly 90 degrees without knocking it over, that's impressive in and of itself.
Lost Room scenario:
Y- You're an object? -Yeah. What do you, uh, do? -I rotate things exactly 90 degrees. -Wow! -Yeah, didn't go so well when I had to get glasses. Still hurts.
