For the same reason every other manuracturer make design mockups...Personaly I find it rather interesting. Its a good design yeah its a backlit picture but that even get my Movie prop juices flowing.I mean seriously you didnt think in Heroes future episode they where carrying functioning Iphone units do you? Those where mockups.
