iriver's CES teaser site fleshes out Lplayer, Spinn
Last time we were talking about these two, iriver was a bit short on images, which is pretty much criminal given the kind of design going into these PMPs. Iriver's ongoing teaser site has now been updated with a bevy of Spinn images, plus the first Lplayer shots we've seen anywhere. All we really picked up from the Spinn shots is that it'll be available in pure white or brush metal, but the Lplayer shots solved a couple mysteries. It looks like iriver is positioning the Lplayer as a sort of Clix mini, with a 2-inch display surrounded by almost zero bezel, and that same D*Click interface. Iriver looks to be further stressing the simplicity of the device with an ultra-minimal interface, but is spicing things up a little with a color selection of white, purple, brown and cyan. Check out the gallery below of all the sexiness.

Yippee!! Another Nano lookalike. How exciting!
mushyho @ Jan 8th 2008 3:58AM
how does this look like the nano, its got no click wheel...
Lotzosushi. @ Jan 8th 2008 7:49AM
I think he means it looks like an iPod Nano (2nd Gen) with the clickwheel chopped off, but this is so much cooler with the touchscreen! Oh, and minus his sarcasm too. :P
Lotzosushi. @ Jan 8th 2008 7:52AM
Sorry, 3rd Gen I mean.
bertbusdriver @ Jan 8th 2008 7:26PM
why does half of the internet think that anything with a vaguely retangular shape and slightly rounded edges resembles an ipod?
Wwhat @ Jan 11th 2008 1:50AM
Because the other half thinks it looks like a zune or zen?
mushyho @ Jan 8th 2008 3:55AM
WHEN IS IT COMING OUT? (i just lost my mp3 player last week, so im in the market for a new one) this looks sweet...
周鹏 @ Jan 8th 2008 4:56PM
You`re so luck!xixi~~~
Mike10010100 @ Jan 8th 2008 5:48AM
Ok, people. This is what would be called a non-iPod ripoff. This looks nothing like an iPod, and does not use any sort of idea except the fact that it has a touchscreen. This is a new and welcome member of the PMP community.
LUV @ Jan 8th 2008 5:49AM
iRiver will always be one step ahead of Apple in MP3 Player design.
:)
Wwhat @ Jan 11th 2008 1:51AM
And quality I understand.
Simon @ Jan 8th 2008 6:38AM
Wow, these look realy nice. Need some more specs, some hands-on-time and pricing before I say any more, but these pictures look like dreams comming true.
slipperywhenwet @ Jan 8th 2008 6:52AM
If the W10 and D5 are any indicator, we can expect these to come out long after anything unique and interesting about them has been ripped by Apple, Cowon, Samsung...
Jonathan Bergeron @ Jan 8th 2008 8:40AM
Does it work with Rhapsody?
James Anderson @ Jan 8th 2008 12:18PM
Yeah, this bares no resemblance to anything apple, it doesn't even have a touch screen (d-click) and I'm sure the sound quality isn't horrible either.
Sean DL @ Jan 8th 2008 1:11PM
Really? So where they get the colors from? That "Purple", "Cyan" and "Brown" look awful familiar...But of course that is what they were going for, go with the colors of the popular devices.
Hopefully that is what a full face touch Nano looks liek in 2009....
Al @ Jan 8th 2008 1:48PM
I don't get how this looks like a nano since it has a d-click system and no buttons but okay. And it going to be released in Korea on March for about 200usd for the 8gb model.
chris fredette @ Jan 8th 2008 6:59PM
Woooow That Spinn thing should be front page. It kicks the ipod to the curve. I like the integrated cover, sort of like the old Clie's. And dedicated volume buttons.
I would rather have a GPS device than a tiny screen movie player too.
If they could jam a 80GB drive in there I'm sold. I don't get the point of 8GB movie player. Flash devices should just be for music and as small as possible until they get up to 64GB.
I almost have my 80GB ipod full now and I'm getting sick of the scratchy/finger-printy ipods. As soon as you put it in a case it negates the small size. The new classic will make me buy game all over again too so Apple is just pissing me off. The touch is neat but 16GB at $400 is lame and not dedicated volume buttons is a deal breaker. I would rather have a cracked iphone.
Jeff @ Jan 9th 2008 1:02AM
that IS pretty sexy... i wonder if the interface is any good. (never used d*clix myself.)
price? size relative to a human hand? capacity?
ben @ Jan 9th 2008 11:27PM
当年俺买180TC那叫一个贵,128m用到现在,依然不坏。
俺觉得iriver应该在音质上多下点儿功夫。
Wwhat @ Jan 11th 2008 1:55AM

I then bought a 180 call your TC, 128 m used now, still not bad.
I think iriver should sound more pleasant to work under.

真的很像啊~
我一開始看得時候覺得很像GARMIN的GPS機器啊~
不過,他們的工業實力真的不是蓋的
台灣的工業設計師們,加油!!

Really like ah ~

请你尝试后,在英语。

What the heck people whats with all the hype? Sure it looks awesome but company after company will be putting out small touchscreen players, still if it had built in wifi I would be sold.
