We were taken by this innovative iP*** holster in attractive gunmetal finish, spotted at the Pioneer booth/spacepod. Because nothing says commitment like welding your iGadget right to the wall.
It's not permanently attached, guys. The frame holds it on 3 sides, and the connector holds it up on the bottom. Disconnecting it allows you to slide it out from the bottom.
How can you tell it's a Touch? I looked at iPod Touch photos and at the iPhone in my hand. There are differences in the two, but I don't see those areas clearly in these photos. What am I missing?
the area on the perimiter of the screen is a gray, unpolished finish (it's somewhat hidden by the welding that holds it in place. On the iPhone, there's a brightly polished metal/aluminum/plastic (whatever it is) piece.
Yeah, I saw that the bezel on this unit was sort of dull gray rather than polished/shiny as on my iPhone, but thought it might be an artifact of the photo.
Speaking of the bezel, I wish it were as scratch-resistant as the screen. My screen is pristine but the rest of the phone is all dinged up.
I think this is a worthless thing to comment on, it's a damned display case. And then we get 50 comments figuring out if it's an iPhone or iPod, who gives a flying fart?
but CubeGuy, I DO want to comment on your awesome avatar, very cool! :)
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
pioneer, i keep going back to them for car units but they can make some seriously ugly junk. also, it's an ipod touch.
....... except that it appears to be an ipod touch, not an iPhone.
Its a wall Pod after that

i concur... iPod Touch.
The only thing better than an Ipod touch.... is an Ipod touch mounted to a wall.

Oh! The touch doesn't have a speaker at the top on the front!
Here's to being slow!

The iPhone has a chrome bezel on the front. The touch has a black plastic bezel, the photo above has the black plastic bezel.
who called it an iPhone?
Heh - the original post said "Best iPhone case"
The link still says iphone. Looks like they've sneakily edited :)
I never knew engadget was the Ministry of Truth. What will they be changing next
"...innovative iP*** holster..."
What the heck do the 3 stars mean?
iPod = iP** = 2 stars
iPhone = iP**** = 3 stars
Also, I'm dumb because that should have read:
iPhone = iP**** = 4 stars
At first glance, I thought that the screen was cracked.

I'm gonna start a running total of times I get commented on it.
I carry my ipod in one of these! - http://ipodmybaby.com LOL
Hideous.
Just nail it up there. A 6" galvanized should do the trick.
hehe, will it blend?
nevermind, it will: http://www.willitblend.com/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&video=iphone
"iSmoke, don't breathe this"
I'm with jivetrky on this. What a waste.
