if theyre trying to bridge the gap between GH and real guitars so that kids switch over to playing real guitars theyre gonna need to really lower the price..
They're also going to need REAL guitars.
zing!

Guitar Hero controllers already cost more than actual guitars. This is just absurd.
DIY FTW.
the only thing i would suggest using a guitar that costs less than $60 is beating someone to death with it.
Thats the only way you will get any sort of "music" out of it.
Worst. Comments. Evar.
No offense to GH fanboys, but if I'm laying down two grand for a guitar, it had better say Rickenbacker on the headstock.
YES! thank god for a voice of reason, i love guitar hero, and i love my guitars, but im sorry, 2g for a game controller = iq of -infinity

If youre paying two grand for a Rickenbacker then youre getting screwed. HARD.
That may be true, but my point is that in 20 years, I'll still have a valuable guitar. A GH guitar will only be worth it's weight in nostalgia. It all depends on your definition of value. To each his own, I guess.
Ok you guys i saw this awhile ago on ign than yesterday i think on aots its $2000 for the pro kit not just the guitar it comes with a floor monitor and some other stuff. but the guitar on its own is $399 still alittle exspensive but not as jaw dropping as $2000
Why in the world would it matter if it came with a monitor? It's a freakin' guitar hero controller, not an actual guitar.
"Unfortunately, we found the guitar to be a bit heavy for Guitar Hero use, particularly when activating star power, and since the buttons are spaced the distance of regular guitar frets it was pretty hard to play."
Welcome to reality.
Have a look at a true air axe, gutar hero on air.

So i take it you prefer to look like the biggest tool ever?
this was already posted on joystiq, and its even gayer than it looks since all this does is requires you to strum in front of a belt, to the beat, and a fanny pack plays the music.
Look at all those people cheering!
...oh, wait... that's a poster.
too pricey. I'd rather stick with a plastic controller and a real guitar
thats crazy. i can probably make a gh controller with my old guitar if i had the time. peavey should rethink their price considering that they can only sell this to the top 1% of the population in which less than half that are kids. and kids having parents who are trying spoil their kids must be the minority. hopefully. haha. i do love guitar hero though. but i dont think the controllers determine the "fun" factor.
picture reminds of south park episode guitar queer-o
I (and a few others) have already done this.

Mine isn't wireless, BUT I kept the same exact distance in between strum bar and fret buttons. Also, notice how Peavey hacked their fretboard and patched in a hacked neck of GH controller. See my version on how I embedded the buttons. The sensitivity is even adjustable.
Cousin Hartley must be 'shrooming.
That, or he didn't have a hand in this.
But I've only ever played Fender knockoffs so what would I know.
isnt this the display that gizmodo attacked with TV-B-Gone clickers?
@grant: My 6 year old son thinks GH is fantastic. What difference does it make if someone is entertained by Guitar Hero or if they go out and play on a real guitar? I also enjoy playing the game with him. I realize it's much different playing a real guitar (yes, I've tried it, never stuck with it) but just because it's a game and people are having a lot of fun with it, you choose to say it's "gay" (whatever that's supposed to mean)? Pretty ignorant of you and sadly not unexpected.
As far as the Peavey Guitar Hero version, I think it's pretty neat. A little bit high priced, but for the amount of enjoyment and collectability of it, it might just be worth it.
Looking forward to your educated response.
