lol, that "juice" guy totally owned every basher.......i feel ya... myself had passion for watches which died when the "cellphone" arrived. and whats with the coverage girl bashing? jus doing her job, i guess..
Haha. I don't know what it is but I had a strong urge to defend this watch and everything it stands for. Seriously how many of us were kids and got our first LCD watch dreaming of the day that these "video watches" would become a reality? Sure they're not very "practical" but it's the dream I'm defending. And now they have finally arrived in a decent enough package and I'm not going to let some unappreciative blogger slam it! :D
The thing is, Engadget wasn't bashing the idea of a video watch, just this particular execution of one. Someone above posted a link to a video watch with metal bezel from Think Geek that actually looks nice. This one looks cheap. Study the up-close shots. Does the metal casing look high quality to you?
I use it mostly to listen to mp3s at work. Also, have 4 X-file's episodes on it. Converting the video takes forever, though. And the battery lasts about 8 hours, when on constantly. When off, you can press the right bottom button and it displays the time for 5 seconds.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

Thanks for the link - I was trying to figure out what the mini-padlock on the left side was, but it looks like a cover for a port of some kind...
I've owned this similar one for about 4 months:
