Besides having one of, if not,
the best product showings at CES 2008, iriver also had one of the most high-tech booths. Gone were the booth babes and ignorant product hacks -- replaced instead by virgin-white cases and interactive displays which allowed their products to speak for themselves. Fortunately, we also had the chance to confirm one of the most peculiar icon choices in CE history: the raised-dog icon on their
S7... yes, he's really treating the booth like his own personal fire hydrant. See a video tour of the booth after the break.

That was cool though, how the speech bubbles followed them

There's a simple solution for that:
just post once.

Wow, the main picture of this article makes it look like the dog is peeing on the Engadget logo... probably unintended side effect.

Darn it, you beat me to it :-)

Their concept got changed now not like the way it was before. I like the booth but it reminds me of Apple's very main concept in design, Minimalism. Is it true that iRiver was bought by Apple years ago? I remember before I bought my first ipod and my friend is competing with his iriver and although it has more features than the ipod, the ipod's hip factor still edges out his iriver. His iriver looks like a robot in transformers (lots of gizmos and buttons on the side lol). But I guess they have changed now.

lmao
iriver, a Reigncom company in Korea, was not bought by anyone. iriver's the one who's acquiring other companies.
3rdsun @ Jan 11th 2008 6:50PM
Are you a f**king ass wipe for apple. go blow Jobs and stay away from other products
ejay boy @ Jan 11th 2008 7:10PM
Do I sound like I'm hating on iriver? I used to but their design concept is actually good.
Mark leach, yes you are correct, I didn't pay attention in the end of the article but it's just an april fool's hoax news. Thank you for letting me know. I didn't realize its an asian company until today.
3rd sun, i'm not trying to hate on your iriver so why you got heated up that much? I read all your other comments and wow you are one hell of a hater. But you just don't want to realize it but most of the new gadgets design resembles from the iphone (yes including the icons). If you keep on denying the truth, then stop bothering and go sleep with your precious iriver.
I am not hating on iriver. I'm actually liking their new design.

Wow. Even the employees look borrowed from Apple. They are even wearing lanyards. Not sure how I feel about this.
PDubNYC @ Jan 11th 2008 2:26PM
Lanyards? at a trade show? Oh God, what's next? Maybe people who use their products everyday, as they have for years, enjoy them without being a fanboy, will be increasingly embarrassed by the putzes out evangelizing their products like a religion.
Where will the Apple-copying end?
Not sure how you feel about this? WTF are you talking about?
Don Park @ Jan 11th 2008 3:21PM
whats the point of this story? i was hoping to see some iRiver products.

That video about Iriver is so cool - love how the text bubbles follow them.
