Apple, a company normally and notoriously known for being fast and loose with its product announcements just blew our minds: spy shots from within the Macworld expo revealed a large, black, shrouded booth; there's simply nothing to see. More on this story as it develops -- Tuesday morning.
maybe behind that thing is a large glass box that has zero gravity and al the new things are floating inside and steve will just pull something and the crowd will just have their pants jump in amazement as they see new apple goodies (or baddies) floating IN THE AIR.. or maybe we're just having air in our brains.. OR maybe behind that big black shroud is more AIR! :)
What I want to see, and I know that this will probably never happen, is an iPhone that is the same size of the Touch. I really love the screen, and the dimensions of the Touch. To me, it would make the perfect size for an iPhone.
Comparing some Palm and LG Prada to the iPhone and saying they are equal or better to the iPhone is blasphemy. Why do you think Palm is almost going out of business? Because nobody wants a great smartphone? I don't think so. You are entitled to a personal opinion, but general consensus says the iPhone is easier to use for most people, meaning their productivity will be higher.
And to those that don't like Apple and MacWorld Expo, please stay the hell away from these articles. No need for Apple haters to get upset by fanbois gushing. Go read the Microsoft or Nokia Expo articles or whatever excites you.
I can shed a bit of light on this announcement. I had a friend named Steve once, and I have had Jobs in the past so I have an inside line, you see.
With the retirement of Bill Gates, then Steve Jobs is going to take over Microsoft. They are announcing the replacement of Leopard with Vista Service Pack 2. It will work just like the current Vista, but in order to make the Aero interface the default Vista experience, Windows will now only run on proprietary MS hardware. Its got all of the latest technology built-in, but it costs a bit more because of the extra built-in features.
am I the only one to notice the notobe/notabe thing? Maybe another way for saying a touch-screen macbook or something? Or maybe I'm the only one who is the stupid one and probably all of you guys already know it's just there for show or something..I honestly don't know..
Nick: The LG Prada and its touchscreen was shown at CES 2006. So while it may be argued that the Prada was _announced_ in January 2007, the actual first appearance (and therefore actually announced as well ) was in September 2006. And hence the LG Prada was a reality long before the iPhone.
What's with all the hate for Apple? I own a Mac, but I don't think it's the greatest goddamn thing ever; Hell, I believe the full 100% protection is bullshit. I just choose a Mac because I liked it, and since I like it doesn't mean I hate Windows or Linux. They are great too! And the iPhone. Sure, it may have lack of good features (3G), but the reason why it's so popular becuase it's different from all the phones for consumers to buy. So, what's with all the hate?
What do you mean that there's nothing but a shroud. Undoubtedly you've heard of the Shroud of Turin. If you look at it closely, you can see the face of Christ.
Well if you look really close in just the right light at that shrouded booth you can see Steven Jobs face right above the Apple logo. Of course, it's been said that only the true Apple believers can see his face in all it's glory. Please bow down and worship so he will bestow on us the MacBook Slim with built-in WiMax. Aaa-men.
Of course ... the shroud of steve. It's weeping, of course. Weeping for all the applets of the world, who, despite having some of the sweetest hardware & software around, still have not found their senses of humor. iSerious.
Hey I'm still hoping they fix the black screen shutdown bugs in these aluminum imacs before they start on even more projects. Too many irons in the fire I think. Leopard alone must have 100 published bugs in it already
I suspect a camera or printer, personally. Apple's computers are most respected for creative work, in particular playing with media that one captures and then printing it out. At the moment, they only have the middle role (playing with the stuff). It would make sense to secure the other areas, too ;)
I bet Apple could make an awesome camera. How about one that captures more than just a still frame, but a bit of low-res video before and after (thus allowing for movement-related post processing effects) as well as sound, position and smell? Would be quite impressive!
Well, it's the only idea that isn't taken, anyway. I get bragging rights if I'm correct :P

"and Baseball Field in one."
Ah, not the oft-rumoured iPitch?
Hey guys! Did u all forget the iDeodorant, in the air...
@daniel
uhh, actually, you're wrong. the lg ke850 (prada) was announced on january 18, 2006 (press release here: http://www.lge.com/about/press_release/detail/PRO%7CNEWS%5EPRE%7CMENU_20328_PRE%7CMENU.jhtml), and if you will remember, steve's macworld keynote was on january 9. the prada came out first, but the iphone was first to be announced and demoed.
if you're going to be a prick, you should at least know what you're talking about first.
sorry, meant january 18, 2007.
Exciting...!

If Steve took over Microsoft wouldn't it be more likely that Leopard would be the OS that replaced Vista SP1?
Probably, but I'm guessing neither OS would enable you to sense sarcasm or take a joke.
i hope 1.1.3 will be released then. this means a 1.1.2 unlock :P
wow I like how apple makes everything so dramatic...so dark and Misterious!!! I'm so hooked into Apples products now!!!!!!

Get your facts straight indeed.

Really hoping they announce an ultraportable macbook. I'm due for a new laptop and that would be perfect.

Maybe stevy is going to sell the black material so fanboys can make it into a jumper just like his??

idk.. maybe I'm being pessimistic.. but I can't think of anything worthwhile for apple to announce
leopard and the iphone are old news
other companies are already making awesome looking multitouch tablets...
other companies are also making ultra mobile pc's...
new monitor design? they kind of need to eventually...
so.. what can they do? there's only so many ways they can reinvent the wheel..
I DEMAND HOVER CRAFTS!
