Final Macworld predictions?
Tomorrow morning the tech world will tune in as Steve gets on stage to kick off another Macworld expo -- an event Apple usually uses for only its biggest product announcements. There are all kind of crazy rumors going around, but this year there are a few picks that have seem to stuck: an ultraportable MacBook (Pro) of some kind, iTunes movie rentals, and, of course, the iPhone SDK. But what rabbit will El Jobso pull out of his hat marked one-more-thing? Find out tomorrow when we bring you our live coverage at 9AM PT (and check out other local times here).

Steve is going to wear a black turtleneck w/ jeans tucked into jeans sans belt.
Ellianth @ Jan 14th 2008 6:11PM
Maybe this year someone will tell him that it's:
(a)ugly
(b)played out
(c)not as cool as he seems to think it is
(d)all of the above
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 6:17PM
i think it was great when Apple wasn't so mainstream, but if he sees the way the company is headed as well as i do, i think he needs to change it up a bit.
Adoniteking @ Jan 14th 2008 6:19PM
@Ellianth
If you could add 10 more options to your objective..honestly i dont think anyone cares anymore..its been his image for a very long time now.
Moreover the guy is minted and for all i care, he could wear a pirate suit tomorrow am still tuning in to know what "the mothership"(lol!) has instore for us consumers.
Blackstar @ Jan 14th 2008 7:08PM
Not only that, I bet Steve's first words will be, "Good Morning".
Followed by his last words after the keynote behind stage will be, "You're all fired."
Ty @ Jan 14th 2008 7:11PM
He SHOULD wear a pirate suit.
CraigJ @ Jan 14th 2008 7:33PM
@Ellianth, I don't think Steve cares what he looks like.
rav97 @ Jan 14th 2008 8:37PM
@Ellianth, maybe this year someone will be hit in the head by a flying "MacBook Air" :D.
pyrogenesis @ Jan 14th 2008 11:03PM
this year, he'll wear a turtleneck AS PANTS. that'll show us.
Isaac @ Jan 14th 2008 6:01PM
Let the crazy speculation/ranting about prices/apple fanyboys/Windows fanboys/gamers/the rest commence now!
Andy @ Jan 14th 2008 6:01PM
People are going to applaud when no applause is necessary.
Jeff Lewis @ Jan 14th 2008 7:52PM
Or appropriate...
willyboy @ Jan 15th 2008 12:21AM
I am applauding right now. I am as giddy as a little fanboy!
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 6:02PM
do you guys think Steve read Engadget?
Isaac @ Jan 14th 2008 6:04PM
I think Joe, steve's secret half brother does and reports back.
derX @ Jan 14th 2008 6:12PM
Am I the only one getting the feeling that csjk789 is, in fact, el Jobso?
Andrew ? @ Jan 14th 2008 7:00PM
C. Steve Jobs, King because 7 -8- 9??
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 7:15PM
Clever, victor.
Mike10010100 @ Jan 14th 2008 8:40PM
Actually, he has a point when you look at it. The only thing this guy has ever commented on was mac-related posts. Wow. And every time he says something, it's pretty much entirely grammatically correct. Hmmmm. Well if it is Steve then I would like to say, WELCOME STEVE! We Engadgeteers aren't that hostile, although I can't speak for everyone. However, it is cool if you moonlight under a codename. In fact, if I were a big CEO, I would use the online forums as the ultimate way to see what the people want.
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 11:06PM
That would be the ideal way to find out what it is that consumers want.
RJM @ Jan 15th 2008 1:46AM
Let's see. Steve has kids now, right? A family life. Monday night, big keynote tomorrow morning, last-minute testing to make sure all the bugs are out of those demos. But hey, none of that's more important than monitoring Engadget and posting at 6pm, 7:30pm, 11pm. Come-on. This is not Steve.
victor @ Jan 14th 2008 6:02PM
macbookair.com
preaty much a good hint
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 6:06PM
i bet the same Apple employee that decided to put up "Something is in the air" registered the domain just to stir the pot.
Guzzie @ Jan 14th 2008 6:14PM
Why does everyone think this means anything? The URL that it directs you to is a question, not a statement.
http://www.apple.com/?Will+We+see+a+MacBookAir+on+Tuesday
Guzzie @ Jan 14th 2008 6:15PM
Question mark went away, whoops.
it directs you to.
http://www.apple.com/?Will+We+see+a+MacBookAir+on+Tuesday?
csjk789 @ Jan 14th 2008 6:20PM
do you know how easy it is to redirect traffic from a site and to provide the domain certificate with a fake registration address (e.g. 1 Infinite Loop)?
Liam @ Jan 14th 2008 6:38PM
Guess what, it was registered by a prankster;
http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/14/macbook-air-wafts-around-the-rumorscape/
Yay.
Chris Macdonald @ Jan 14th 2008 6:40PM

I didn't write he is gay cuz I hate him. It's just for fun. I actually respect him along with ol' Gates.

Anthony @ Jan 14th 2008 7:37PM
@CUBSWILLWIN
You're that guy that thought "your mom" jokes were funny in 2003 aren't you?
ericdano @ Jan 14th 2008 6:03PM
A touched based MacBook and line of monitors.
derX @ Jan 14th 2008 6:09PM
I was thinking of that, too.
That would be awesome. If any company could pull it off, Apple's definitely one to do it....
....and just for a meager $1.6 umptitrillion dollars.
But seriously, it would be amazing and it's not that farfetched. I'd totally get one.
mike @ Jan 14th 2008 6:27PM
You can find out all about the URL thing at:

They are not all Apples
CUBSWILLWIN @ Jan 14th 2008 6:34PM
this doesn't sound very believable, but: OSX Lynx ( or lion, I don't give a care. , with pc and mac compatability creating an age where all computers can run all OS's. I hope that happens atleast along with the Air and the tablet.
Erik @ Jan 15th 2008 12:53AM
"A touched based MacBook..."
That comment, and a conversation my friend and I had about the religion of Apple, made me think something inappropriate.
Show me where they touched you!
derX @ Jan 14th 2008 6:03PM
Fresh from the rumor mill: Steve and Bill are supposed to be fighting to the death.
...it's just what I heard.
tcc3 @ Jan 15th 2008 8:33AM
Cue the Star Trek fight music!

My guess is that they're either going to give a very very subtle hint at a new model of the iPhone. Or release a beta for the iPhone SDK.
Donald @ Jan 14th 2008 6:06PM
Yellow Submarine iPod, Beatles music.
quailman @ Jan 14th 2008 7:44PM
That's so MW'07.
We forget so fast.
I say now it's a yellow iPhone.
flYY @ Jan 14th 2008 8:10PM
you mean a banana phone??
Matt @ Jan 16th 2008 1:51AM
well it is inter-activeodgular
Holty @ Jan 14th 2008 6:11PM
What's the best way to get the live Keynote announcements on a mobile device (i.e. Blackberry). Anybody offering an email feed?
MRCUR @ Jan 14th 2008 6:46PM
MacRumors is going to be doing some Twitter updates, which you can have automatically sent via SMS to your phone.
Just go here:http://www.macrumors.com/lists/#sms
Greg @ Jan 14th 2008 6:13PM
OK Guys, now I'm gonna ruin all your fun with MacBookAir.com. Sorry, it has to be done.
There are several reasons it *isn't* registered by Apple:
1) It redirects to http://www.apple.com/?Will+We+see+a+MacBookAir+on+Tuesday?. This is just a page, or URL anyone could make up. I could register a domain and forward it to http://www.apple.com/?Greg+is+the+coolest!. Ta-da! Apple thinks I'm the coolest! Not.
2) The domain forwarded to a parked domain before. When has Apple EVER forwarded to a parked domain, in the history of domains? That's right, never.
3) It's a protected domain. Past years, domains haven't been protected in this way.
The more you think about it, the less likely that this domain is Apple, and more likely that it's just a fanboy. Sorry to bring down the fun, guys ;-)

They'll announce something cool and new, everyone that just bought something else will complain. Then in a few months uy the new thing.
Greg @ Jan 14th 2008 6:20PM
Yep. They'll announce something new; of course. Whether it's the MacBook Air... well, we'll just have to wait. I'm just sayin' that MacBookAir.com means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
