It's not like we've never seen a Zune
doused in red, but Microsoft is apparently hoping to milk the hue just
a bit more by smothering a new Zune 80 in it. Supposedly created especially for Valentine's Day (T-minus one month, fellas), it won't differ from any other Zune 80 save for the color, but just in case that's not mushy enough, Redmond is offering up 20 new love-themed, laser-engraved designs at Zune Originals, but they'll all vanish after February 14th. Another Zune in another color -- undoubtedly the key to her heart.
Zune always let me think of iriver! And they are really alike, both outlook and interface!
Hey, maybe instead of new colors we could get some software that works.
I love my Zune but we need an update pronto.
I've stopped bothering trying to fix the duplicate songs. About every 2 weeks I just delete ALL my music off my Zune and re-sync it for a fresh start.
When is a high resolution HD version coming out? Touchscreen and/or with a less bland looking squircle .. (OLED?)
Why would you want HD for a 3" screen? That and it would take up a lot of space.
If you mean transcoding recorded Media Center HD for syncing then I agree.
the 42" Zune will be out next year.... dumbass.
I would be happy with VGA on my Zune 80, or something in between VGA & the QVGA it has. The fact that it'll output to 480p or 480i is nice (even if you gotta buy the v2 dock for 480p).
I would have to think the next generation of Zunes (assuming there is one) would take the next step & support 720p output.
I LOL'ed
What I need is a new software feature per month. Lets say jan: smart playlists, feb: use as HARD DRIVE, mar: equalizer, apr: suport WMP and play for sure, may: bring album stacks from WMP, jun: polish I candy on now playing like letting us select from album arts and bigger album art for the now playing song, jul: ADVANCE META TAGS EDITOR, aug: give advance options for sorting library like in WMP. can keep the current state as default, sep: support for divx and other codecs, oct: zune 80 in white and gray/metalic... then nov: ZUNE 3. I forgot those players are better than ipods in hardware but they cost the same MS should price the ZUNE 80 at $229.99 thats it $20 less than the king of the hill to be competitive. P.S. I like my Zune, it only has some missing software features.
Just got to use one of these yesterday. Awesome.
Apple can bite me, unless something revolutionary come out today. Of if the price drops but I would buy the Zune 80 over the classic even if it cost more. The touch is another matter but 16GB is useless to me. If it came in 80GB and had dedicated volume button then I would be there.
And hope your gf doesn't dump you for the guy who buys her an iPod nano:red ;)

Once you find how to work the software the Zune is super sweet! Wireless sync is all that and more, I love it!
Its not about finding out how to work the software. The software doesn't do anything. Its super basic. And i don't mean simple to use, I mean featureless.
It needs some serious improvements to bring it on par with WMP11, to organize videos, and manage Media Center Syncing.
Add to that the metadata and album art bits of the program are FUBAR.
Love my zune, but we need real software right now. Isnt Microsoft a *software* company?
More codec support is what i want most (FLAC, OGG Voribis, Monkey Audio, Etc)..
Possibly more support for syncing with other computer jukeboxes: like Amarok, Banshee, iTunes, Winamp, Exaile, Rhythmbox, etc..
Everyone knows this isn't going to happen. Now stop pretending you actually care about it natively supporting Lossless formats. If you really cared that much, you would just transcode to WMA lossless.
And why the hell would Microsoft open up their player to other sync solutions? They tried that, remember?
