I ordered one in January 30th, yesterday my order was cancelled and replaced by a 2407WFP that I do not ordered, I called asking why they cancelled and replaced my original order, they said me that some production problems happened and to avoid a long waiting for me they decided to sent me a "better" monitor. ....What? ...I cancelled this new order and I am waiting for a the 2408. Sorry for my english, regards from Mexico.
They also cancelled my order around the same date. I had them re-create a new order. Now I have an expected ship date of 2/21 with overnight shipping. tick tick tick...
A few days ago there was a massive fire at an Asian facility that makes the flat panels. 24 production lines have been knocked out. This company supplies 24% of HPs, 20% of Dells, and various other companies LCD panels for their monitors. Expect most companies to start seeing some shortages.
Best thing to do with Dell is to stick with your demand that your order be processed and not let them try to change the game on you. Let them know that they are welcome to take their time, just keep your order locked in.
