The elaborately named Secret Service Invisible 2-Way Micro Headset comes with an easily hidden wireless transmitter that plugs into any mobile with a 2.5-millimeter audio output. Once rigged up, the wearer can have someone listen in on conversation in a room while also receiving input from said listener. Unfortunately, this likely Jack Bauer-approved gizmo demands a practically ludicrous $649.95, so it looks like we'll be sticking to brute force and walkie talkies here. the little thing is to pull it out of your ear, lots of hearing aids have those. the antennae is internal, and doesn't need to have long range becasue the receiever is SO CLOSE (around your neck)
This looks like something that could function as a hearing aid if properly configured. It may be expensive for what it is supposed to do, but have you checked the price of a good hearing aid lately--$649.50 would be dirt cheap!

TEA has had a system like this that is just as small. The batteries last a full shift (8-10 hours). I sneezed once and almost lost it (I guess my ear shifted enough that it squeezed the little gizmo a bit).
