Brickhouse Security's two-way micro headset may never leave your ear canal
Unlike Brickhouse Security, we won't go so far as to call this thing "invisible," but when placed in the ear, all but the most eagle-eyed among us are likely to overlook it. The elaborately named Secret Service Invisible 2-Way Micro Headset comes with an easily hidden wireless transmitter that plugs into any mobile with a 2.5-millimeter audio output. Once rigged up, the wearer can have someone listen in on conversation in a room while also receiving input from said listener. Unfortunately, this likely Jack Bauer-approved gizmo demands a practically ludicrous $649.95, so it looks like we'll be sticking to brute force and walkie talkies here. Check out a demo video after the jump -- but be sure and kill the speakers first, alright?

I always wanted to be like Ender Wiggin. Just need a hot cyber chick always whispering sweet nothings into my ear.
"Will never leave your ear canal"
You mean... is it stuck?
Anyway, how is the microphone? I have heard of the Motorola small earsets, T3 magazine says the microphone "sounds like somebody was shouting in a pringles can. [sic.]"
Oh wait... Useful at taking those tests. Hee! Hee! Hee! (jokes! cheating is bad, kids!)
Oh wait, it _IS_ useful at taking those tests! Look at the meeting scene in the video. (33 seconds)
"The next thing you'll tell me is the life span of an Alien Swamp Monkey." (WTF?!!)
Replies: "25 Years, 50 cm tail."
(Clap, clap, clap,clap.....)
...wtf?
Err.., Correction, correction. That was "Allen" Swamp Monkey not "Alien" Swamp Monkey. Gosh, the ad was so crappy I thought they made a crock species of monkey.
Do these get affected by mobile interference?? because that could get quite annoying and possiblely painfully loud? =]
Wow, that's one board meeting from hell...
$650!? I guess being a spy ain't cheap
As long as bluetooth headsets dont get this small.
Some times people already look like they are talking to them self.
Imagine if someone has one of these and is always one it!
From webpage (read link):
"Covert Communications is the key to your success!"
If my "key to success" includes cheating, lying and fraud, I choose not to take the "successful" path at all.
That video was hilarious.
Windows Movie Maker (possibly Powerpoint) for the win.
Soon to be banned in california
Oh, definitely. I probably wouldn't get it for that particular reason.
for the same reason they took our .50bmgs, and cantennas, they could be used for.... TERRORISM!!!
I like the look of this headset, but I would be afraid of the little antenna snapping off.
the little thing is to pull it out of your ear, lots of hearing aids have those. the antennae is internal, and doesn't need to have long range becasue the receiever is SO CLOSE (around your neck)
This looks like something that could function as a hearing aid if properly configured. It may be expensive for what it is supposed to do, but have you checked the price of a good hearing aid lately--$649.50 would be dirt cheap!
This would be useful for whistleblowers in enron-like companies... or just corporate spies
I hope to live to see the day when this technology, as well as the digital displays in:

come together.
Speakers in our ears; displays in our eyes. Awesome.
How in the hell is it powered? Wireless magnet power? (I forget what it's called.)
Is this what George Bush used in the debates? Remember how he had a bulge in the back of his suit?
For such an expensive item, what a shitty advertisement. I don't know what makes them think they'll be able to sell one of these to anyone.
I didn't know Allen Swamp Monkeys lived that long.
At the very least, a wireless transmitter and cell phone is a bit more discreet than this:

wow i wish that was on the news, but isn't it possible he has back problems or something too? I mean...he's kind of old...and maybe it's the back to some bulletproof vest, in case kerry got frisky and shot him hahaha
Right about now, all over this blue green globe of ours, Millions of Security Guards just got aroused.

5 years too late. Wish i had this when i was in college. Wouldn't have to stay awake all night cramming shit i never use in real life.
TEA has had a system like this that is just as small. The batteries last a full shift (8-10 hours). I sneezed once and almost lost it (I guess my ear shifted enough that it squeezed the little gizmo a bit).
Hell, if you are over 40, your ear hair should do just fine for camouflage.

Good one Sporkinum, but if your in your 20's with piercings & all people would just think its a new crave....inside ear piercings. In that case they could have bugs on their tongue. Another patent here i come...lol
