Which nuvi is the right nuvi for you?
Yeah, we sure love our charts / tables too, and with Garmin's nüvi lineup now bordering on thoroughly overwhelming, we're glad to see the folks over at NaviGadget doing the dirty work and cranking out "the ultimate nüvi comparison table." Click on for a much easier way to digest the latest outpouring of nüvis, will ya?

The Nuvi 5000 is listed as having a 0 hrs battery life? That's not too good.
Maybe that means it just plugs in to the lighter and has no battery?
Or is it a typo??

Apparently it doesn't have an internal battery, so you need an external power source.
The picture used here has a battery life indicator, but it must not be the model described.

Interestingly, no Nuvi is right for me. My SO has a Nuvi 250 or something (one of the low-end models), and I have a MIO DigiWalker C220 I got for $100 on Black Friday 2007...I much, much prefer the UI of the MIO compared to the Nuvi's.

These things are cool. GM should offer them with the Malibu and Ford should offer them with the Focus.

alternatively you can buy a malibu and a nuvi separately and save some bucks.

Navigon FTW!!! After Garmin wanted me to shell out $75 for a map update on my crappy little i3 streetpilot, I told them to go lick a goat. I just bought a Navigon 2100 that has text to speech, reality view (which is very cool), and came with a lifetime traffic thing all for $149 from tigerdirect.

I too might be interested for the Navigon 2100. Any pros/cons?
Btw, did U hear anything back from the "Goat Lickers"!
Dave @ Jan 21st 2008 11:59AM
Kasi, the only con I've really read about is a supposed "lack" of POI's. I dont really consider that an issue since if I really need to find something, I have an iPhone so I can use that. Also, others report that its not even a real issue since it finds restaurants and gas stations without issue.
Nothing back from those who lick goats. $75 dollars for an update for a gps thats only worth about $99 and doesnt even have touchscreen? No thanks. ;)

The one with TomTom written across the top!

The right Nuvi is the one without 5+ years outdated POI database. That leaves... none.
