Nissan, Renault and Better Place team for electric cars, charging points in Israel
While there are many rational and irrational reasons for the delays we've seen in production of a mass-market and massively adopted electric car, most of the major issues seem to be addressed by this new initiative going down in Israel. One of the primary problems with electric cars is refilling, and that's going to be nicely addressed by entrepreneur Shai Agassi's Project Better Place, which will build a charging network of 500,000 plug-in points across the country. Other issues were a bit more easily addressed: since Israel is a small country, the limited range of electric cars isn't as much of an issue, and the government subsidies should make prices competitive -- with the eventual cost of ownership significantly less than gas cars to sweeten the deal even further. Nissan and Renault plan to built the cars, naturally, and hope to port the concepts into other vehicles in other countries in the near future. The plan is to launch the first cars in Israel around 2011.

Guys, let me ask you a question:
- Do you agree that indians were first in America, don't you?
- Do you agree that indians have now a limited places, called "reservations", don't you?
- Do you agree that palestinians in Middle East are EQUAL to inidians in America (were first + reservation), don't you?
Now, pls answer me, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH INIDIANS, WERE THEY LAUNCH MISSLES EVERY DAY ON L.A., N.Y., ..... ? Let me guess - eliminate them all. So, pls, don't be so smart, till you find yourself in such situation.
BTW, jewish were in Middle East more than 2000 years ago (and never left it completely), and now part of them is just coming back...
Very well put.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH INIDIANS, WERE THEY LAUNCH MISSLES EVERY DAY ON L.A., N.Y., ..... ?
I wouldnt have invaded them in the first place...
Balam,
If you live in US/Canada/Mexico/..., you already DID invaded. Few hundreds years ago. And killed hundreds of thousands of them. And now pushed them to reservations. Don't you think so?
Now imagine, indians come to NY and claim it. You say, "OK, come here and live with us in NY". But you hear "NO! We'll take this place and drive you to the sea". Let's see your reaction.
Homophobia has been described as the result of the lack of knowledge about Homosexuals. In such I would like to extend that anti-semitism is the lack of knowledge about Jews and the real facts. Some of you need to study the whole story behind Israel before making your minds. You are judgeing by the actions and realities of today rather then TRYING to understand what has caused today to exist. That means looking before 1967 and 1948.
I fully support Israel. And Israeli taxpayers pay for the Electricity supplied to Gaza, so I guess in a roundabout way American taxpayers do to.
Antisemitism is a blocking word used to blow people out of discussion. Whilst some people I'm sure are antisemitic and deserving of the title, it is used far too often as soon as someone voices negative opinion about Israel's military actions.
I disagree with Israels policy's but do I hate the Jewish race?... no. In the same way I don't agree with Hama's policy's but I'm certainly no straight out Arab hating racist. I also disagree with a lot of other country's policy but it has nothing to do with race. Japan hunting whales in a whale sanctuary comes to mind...
Don't abuse people for their opinions, it just shows ignorance and is a tactic to avoid the discussion.
