HammerHead Tac-Strobe Flashlight: for police, military, and emergency raves

It's not every day you see a company lead off a product feature list with "Intrinsically Safe = No," but that's just what the folks at FoxFury have done with their new HammerHead Tac-Strobe Flashlight, and that just about makes it impossible for us to ignore. If that's not enough to sell you on it, however, you can rest assured that the flashlight also boasts a "highly stylized design," to say nothing of 320 lumens of brightness (or 4,019 candle power) and a "Turbo-Strobe" feature that promises to be "very disturbing" for anyone looking into the light. All that can be yours right now just under $300, with a weapon mount set to follow for an unspecified price in June.

I'll take three!
The revolutionaries will wear sunglasses!

this will come in handy for my next rave.
"and emergency raves"
i need this!
I've been wanting some kind of gimmick to disorient my victims. Hmm, The Flashlight Killer? The Strobe Strangler?
Rave-ing Lunatic, Strobelight Psychopath. If you're looking for a less violent crime spree, there's always "the Flashing Flasher"
I already own the weapon mount. It's called Duct Tape.
Will Smith could have used this in "I am Legend"
Neville, come out Neville - Yeah, I'll come out, STROBE FLASH LIGHT TO THE FACE!!! AHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHHH
Not even this flashlight could make Will Smith's performance in I Am Legend shine.
Intrinsically safe is really just to do with use in hazardous gas situations; so not really for use after curry night. LOL
Indeed - i had to try to find some Intrinsically Safe walkie-talkies for the haz-mat kit when I was parts manager at a bottling plant.
It basically meant that the electrical device was sealed in certain ways that guaranteed no flammable or explosive gases could leak inside the case and be ignited by any sparks that might occur inside there.
So an Intrinsically Safe device is basically approved for bringing in and using in a situation where there's been a gas or flammable liquid leak or spill.
You can still drop it on someone's head and hurt them.
The I.S. walkies ended up being like $180 each, so we didn't end up getting them.
Costs some dough to seal 'em up so well, I guess.
Wow I used to have to worry about being disoriented by the flasher in the trenchcoat....now I have to worry about flasher disorientation of another kind
Don't strobe me bro!!!
ok I know that what I am going to say is bad - but you don't have to read it...
I am going to install this (or the puke ray light) at the back of my car... and next time someone follows too closely I guarantee I will flash them to nausea! I think it's the perfect detterent for dickheads on the road (somewhat very dangerous however - but can one be bothered?)
You don't need one of these to deter impolite drivers. My brother used to have one of those $20 2 million candle power lights that plug into the cigarette lighter that he would hold over his shoulder and turn on when somebody was driving behind him with their brights on.
He reported that it was pretty effective. Most people dimmed their lights. Or maybe they were blinded and crashed into trees. Anyway, they stopped driving behind him with their brights on.
"....and emergency raves"
So does it have a Ipod or Zune plugin to supply my happy hardcore? ... and when is Apple supplying a matching ipod weapons mount?
haha, I can see it now, an iPod classic sitting on an M4 on a RIS foregrip
something like this might be useful in CQB/CQC airsoft I suppose, nothing says dynamic entry like a mk5 thunder flash followed by strobing lights
Or.. you could just use the already released Romisen T5. It has twice the output, and 1/6th the cost. It has 3 modes, strobe, low, and high.

So, then, an 11" knife is "intrinsically safe."
I find this term intrinsically stupid.
California will have it outlawed by tomorrow.
A poor man's pocket version of this is available, of military quality (hard anodizing), but the single battery costs $8 at your local drug store. So? Get them (CR123) by the dozen for a dollar each on Ebay. It's computerized. One click = on and JUST AS BRIGHT AS A TWO D-CELL MAGLIGHT WITH A XENON BULB (!). Two clicks = half brightness, so it will last a few hours instead of only one. A second double-click = stealth mode, so it will let you navigate a jungle for several nights in a row, or find a book you left in your snoring roommate's room without rousing them. But triple-click? STROBE!!! This will drive your girlfriend crazy, which makes it worth the high price. Let's see...
"NOVATAC EDC-120T" (this is the son of the defunct ARC company's LM/LS line which was the favorite EDC = "every day carry" light on the flashlight-fetish site CandlePowerForums.com):

If you are looking for a simple keychain light that accepts "normal" (AAA) batteries, the best one is still made by the ARC company, and will last many hours:

It amazes me, how fast it goes from 'never heard of it' to 'I have to have it'. ;^)
Nothing new. I just bought a 205 lumen OLight with integral strobe function and five brightness settings for $60.
the night ops gladius does essentially the same thing, and is more pocketable. It makes a great alternative to pepper spray because you can't really develope a resistance to it. Well, 320 lumens can blind you pretty quick, and would probably make you pretty darn resistant to bright light, so take that w/a grain of salt.
and if anybody figured out a way to convert lumens to candle power, please inform the world how you did it, cause last I checked, there was no conversion.
P.S. I really don't have any credibility on this stuff, I just spend way too much time reading the interwebs about flashlights. please excuse any ignorance I may have displayed.
