Best Buy stops selling the 80GB PS3
Well that was fast -- just a day after we'd heard that Best Buy was dropping the 80GB PS3 SKU, it's gone from the retailer's web site. We aren't sure what this means for the broader US market -- several other stores are still selling the 80GB model -- but for now, it looks like customers of the Blue will have to get their PS2 fix from actual PS2s.

If Sony were smart, they'd get the cost of manufacturing PS3's down so far that they can afford to add the EE back in, and then release it in a 160GB SKU. Sony, we want BC!
I've said this before. When I heard they were halting production on the 60GB and dropping the price by $100, I went out and bought one ASAP. It was the best thing I ever did.
You could just go out and buy your own 160GB HDD, but if you do that you can actually go higher if you want. The HDD is suppose to be user replacable.
Oh I will. But I'm talking about all the people who haven't bought a PS3 yet.
Personally, I'd go for a 250gb HDD if I were in the market for one. Gotta do things right.
Rumors are Sony is releasing a ceramic white PS3 in the US this year (it's already out in Japan). This could be why Best Buy stopped selling the 80 gig model.
Truth is that they are replacing the 80 gb motor storm pack with one without the game. This is all, the replacement will be in best buy next month. By the way that was not an internal MEMO, it was an employee blog. Memos are sent by email.
