Cobalt Blue Nintendo DS Lite now available to order

If by some chance you still aren't satisfied with the variety of DS Lite color options currently available, you'll apparently soon have yet another to choose from, with a Cobalt Blue/Black model now up for order on Circuit City's website. Somewhat curiously, the site actually shows two slightly different blue-colored models, although we're guessing that's due to some image processing shenanigans and not evidence of two different blue DSs, though we certainly wouldn't put anything past the big N. No official word on a release date just, but Circuit City will gladly take your $130 now and ship it to you as soon as it's available.

I think that that's the best looking one yet.

I got that one, and it is beautiful. not ofcourse in the sense the iphone-chiq-apple-products is beautiful, but in the way it dresses up the form factor of the ds.

Yep, this is the first one to even tempt me to move away from my original DS.. although I feel like having an original DS is sort of a badge of honor, being there from the questionable beginnings, before the DS took over the world. ;)
Well, aside from the crippling hand pain the first DS gave me it was nice, but I had to upgrade.

If there's one thing better on the original DS it's the:
1) size of the dpad (and its clicky feel, as opposed to the more painful dpad in the Lite, with mashy feel)
2) better (rounded, less squared-off) shoulder buttons.
On the DS Lite they made the dpad mashy and reduced its size. L and R shoulder buttons on the Lite were also squared off compared to the original. Stylus and screen was improved greatly, so perhaps the stylus is what you are referring to. The other two were serious downgrades, IMO.

The red is pretty too. Although the color chooses the children according to their taste, who are going to play with nintendo. not us, their parents..

The original Japanese navy blue DS is still my favorite. This one comes close.

Another sku, nice. I'd like to get another DS, but with the last red/black one, the screen was very poor compared to my stock white one. Especially when turned sidways playing Brain age, I hope the blue one has an improved LCD. Otherwise, I'll keep on waiting...

This color look nice, but I'd like to see more color choice.
seeing that the Lite looks like it's got a transparent overcoat on it, you'd think they would allow paper slip-ins to customise the design with your own look while protecting it from the elements under all that transparent gloss.

Are you sure there is a new color? I tried looking at circuit city website and it only shows black, white, red, and pink.
The Cobalt/Black SKU is in the Best Buy system as well now, on order they said, but on yet available in-stores or online.
I'd buy it, but I can't have wifi in the dorms here. And the adapter thing only works with XP (I use a mac). Unless I'm missing something, I'm SOL.
the ds is the last time i ever buy a system new. why should i spend my money on something when a year later they replace the bland with something much more appealing? ps3 white, darth vader psp, dszelda. why not come out w/some awesome at the beginning?

Why is it that I still can't find a ds lite anywhere, regardless of color?
Where did they all go? I promised 2 for Christmas and had to deliver pieces of paper and apologize for not being able to find them. 3 months ago, I could have picked up a half dozen at any b&m store.

I would glady pay up for this blue one if it was actually all blue and not half blue half black like the red one. COME ON make an all blue one that color. I would love that.

Except navy is ugly and that other blue while nice is no where near as nice as this new cobalt blue :-) Hmmm I do like that light blue one though....

I just upgraded my massive, bulky silver original to the DS Lite in crimson. I was happy about it until now...now I feel inadequate.
I'm suprised there isn't a Nintendo DS ID yet where you can customize your own DS anyway you want...
