Dev Team's 1.1.3 jailbreak for iPhone / iPod touch now available

If you've got a certain brand loyalty to the official iPhone Dev Team then take note, they just released their own special flavor of the 1.1.3 jailbreak for iPhone / iPod touch. We guess that with the splitter version already outed (and its secrets revealed to Apple) there was no sense in keeping it under wraps any longer. The hack requires a v1.1.2 jailbroken device with the BSD Subsystem v1.5 or greater installed -- it does NOT upgrade your baseband. All the usual cautions apply hacker-boy so be careful out there, we haven't tested... yet.

ok i am running 1.1.3 right now. I do have the updated baseband and if i downgrade and still have new baseband, then upgrade with this software, will my phone work?

Still debating if I should upgrade to the 1.1.3 firmware. I personally don't want to pay the $20 just for the new apps. On the other hand, I am sure someone has posted them somewhere for free.

On the other hand, there is another jailbreak but its not from the Dev team which some reports of problems. I don't know jus yet. I am at the 1.1.1 at the moment. Any suggestions that I should upgrade or should I just wait til the SDK comes out?

As far as ipod touch users go, isn't this all unnecessary if Apple didn't charge for the update?

Dont consider doing this to your Ipod Touch. Tried it, and don't like the looks of the Grey Iphone Bar at the bottom of your screen.

Also, your programs like mail, maps, stocks etc will be useless unless you buy it through the applestore. The programs are there, but the are just unactivated.

Sure they will come up with something soon, but for Ipod touch... Not very very useful.

I did this... it worked.

BUT

The icon rearrangement doesn't work, nor does lyrics, nor does adding bookmarks to home screen.

The dock style has changed but I don't get why I don't have most of the features!?!

I followed the instructions at http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30044. Worked like a charm going from 1.1.1 jailbroken straight to 1.1.3 jailbroken. Once on 1.1.3, they have a few SCP file copying you need to do to get the new apple apps and springboard (with wigglies) working, couple of commandline things (like adding the symlink for /applications), and voila! Had it done in 30 mins.

I used Nate's jailbreak first and I had a bunch of issues - most significant was the iTunes preview and EDGE settings not working (I know there is a patch for EDGE). Anyway, I did a clean downgraded to v1.1.1, upgraded to 1.1.2 (applied YouTube fix), then used the Dev Team v1.1.3 softpatch on Intaller.app - and everything but contact syncing works (needed to run LocateMe once before Google Maps would work).

I specifically tested for this and found I'm having a problem. I've done the same method twice (last night and today) to make sure I didn't miss anything. In my testing today I kept changing my address book after every upgrade just to confirm it still works - it only failed after the v1.1.3 upgrade.

Otherwise, this upgrade method seems to be solid. In the middle of working, I spent about 3 hours this morning on this... Maybe tonight I'll the v1.1.3 download to your PC and copy the files over jailbreak.

all my apps except for the one that came installed are gone after using the dev team 1.1.3 jailbreak, but the programs are still in the touch if i go into installer, if i uninstall an app then reinstall it it shows up, anyone know what thats all about?

Hey, I was having the same problem with my touch, kept hanging in recovery after jailbreak.jar. It has something to do with itunes 7.6. If you want a work around, download INdependece, here's the link: http://independence.googlecode.com/files/iNdependence_v1.3.2_beta.dmg
Then run INdependence when it's stuck in recovery, it should then reboot a couple times, and then you should have a jailboken 1.1.2. This method worked for me.

Hi guys i have and iphone bootloader 4.6 with firmware 1.1.1 i got a stealth sim and in trying to get it to work i messed up my baseband.

is there a way i can fix this as now i get an error that the phone can not make or receive calls also the wifi does not work.

Im stuck with doing this. I have tried for a few hours. Managed to downgrade to 1.1.1 then update to 1.1.2 but when i do so i lose installer and cant get it back using jailbreakme.com
The only ways ive read take you from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 but when im in 1.1.2 i cannot install the installer app

@ Anyone....I want to move my iPhone backup to a different machine and start syncing on the new one (Mac Pro) instead of the old one (Mac Book) If I plug in my iphone to new Mac Pro, iTunes says it wants to erase it and start over etc.....will I Lose my current jailbreak or just the contacts music etc. will it retain apps, and is there a backup solution that will alow me to move everything over from old machine to new one and not lose anything?
