Pasen F10 PMP rips off both the iTunes and WMP icons
Normally we'd let run-of-the-mill PMPs like Pasen's F10 pass on by, but we just had to stop and call out the blatant use of both the iTunes and WMP icons here -- even given Pasen's history, that's just a little much. Come on guys, the F10 looks like a solid little player -- 2.6-inch 400 x 240 display, MP3 / AAC / FLAC / DivX / XviD / RMVB support, just 0.2 inches thick -- why not actually try and let it compete, instead of saddling it with the trappings of irrelevant KIRFdom? Ugh, we have to go lie down.

I'm guessing that's 440x240?
44 would look pretty weird... tall rectangular pixels :)
no, its 400x240.
nobody ever said anything about 44
They certainly did, but it's now been corrected.
When the article was posted it was 44x240, hence my comment :)
I'm not sure I would give up my Sony PSP or iPhone for this little guy, but I'd be lying if I said seeing the icons didn't bring a smile to my face. Would be cool if the icons switch their alignment depending on if you're holding it landscape or portrait.
Does anybody know a PMP that supports both Mp4 & WMA (without conversion software)?
Zune 80
"Normally we'd let run-of-the-mill PMPs like Pasen's F10 pass on by..."
Well, there's your answer. Without the KIRF status, you would have ignored it completely. At least now it got some coverage. : )

"Come on guys, the F10 looks like a solid little player"
Contradict much?
Seriously, Engadget just has a little bias against Chinese knockoffish players, this actually looks rather nice, sort of like the old Nano or Zune 4/8 but with a widescreen display. The widescreen display is actually a pretty nice touch, and it looks pretty slick.
"Normally we'd let run-of-the-mill PMPs like Pasen's F10 pass on by"
Now if that's not a lie, I've never heard one..
Maybe this player is capable of syncing with both iTunes and WMP, but maintains separate libraries for the two software, and those two icons signify how you access those two libraries?
It's a small possibility, to be sure, but a possibility nonetheless. Maybe you should hold off blasting a product before you actually have any facts.
...the article is linked to the official Pasen website. So I'm guessing they do have their facts.
It's like one of those reject kids that slaps on some G-Unit stickers on his polo shirt, pulls his shirt out of his pants, and puts on one of his dads old caps and goes around saying "looka bitches, im a gangsta too!"
Kids tuck their shirts in?
China has been ripping off Ipod's and iphones shape and size for years...
so why bother bringing this up? SO WHAT -- an Icon??? SO WHAT???
I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs must hold some stake or power in Engadget. The Keeping it Real Fake series has been 90% Ipod related.
OK, now you're an Apple-hater if I ever saw one. No one at Engadget said that the Pasen was copying the iPod or iPhone. They merely stated that the Pasen has copied both the iTunes icon and the (non-Apple) WMP icon, with slight modifications of course.
Why is it being dunked in blue toilet water?
...because yellow toilet water would be disgusting!
That icon to the left of the iTunes icon looks a a little like the Apple Internet Connect icon.

Oh Jesus, I didn't think people would take my post seriously.
I guess I'll include /sarcasm tags from now on for the humor-impaired.
the player's wallpaper in that pic is also one of the stock vista wallpapers...
"CHEEP CHEEP"
This is what the new Nano should've looked like.
