"face detection software that distinguishes between kids and adults" ?
why is that relevant?
Why isn't it relevant?
But seriously, camera companies have to stop putting useless features into cameras just for the sake of adding features.
Because sometimes you want to have the auto-focus to focus on the face, instead of other "brighter" objects like a candle flame, shiny object in the background, etc, or even focus on the kids, rather than the family dog.
But then again, how does it tell if it's a kid or an adult? It would be cool if it actually worked. Maybe I'll have to take a look at one of these cameras to see how well this feature works.
What about midgets?
hmmmm?
That is the most useless thing I've ever heard.
Their new cameras are posted on their UK site...

Why the highlighting of the 'effective' part?
All cameras have a slightly different number of actual and effective pixels - the very edge of the sensor is generally written off.
It's not like back in the day when certain companies *cough* Fuji *cough* were interpolating everything they sold to double up the number of pixels they could advertise.
Does it say Super MAD CCD? Because that's LAME.
Super HAD CCD
"MAD" woulda been cool, though. C'mon, admit it.
