Hands-on with Panasonic's seven new Lumix models

Wow, that's a lot of Lumixes! If there's one thing to be said for Panasonic's digital imaging division, it definitely gives the consumer quite a large variety of models to choose from. And some, like the TZ4 and TZ5, offer pretty compelling features, such as a relatively monstrous 10x optical zooms in a relatively pocketable form factor. For the full list of models in the gallery below, which run the gamut from 8.1 to 10.1 megapixels, be sure to check out the official announcement post from a few days back.

Does anyone know if the FX35 has a 'Rule of 3rds' overlay onto the live preview? It seriously improves your shots by a tremendous amount because sometimes you just aren't thinking fully when snapping cute photos and such.

Ahh..come one Pip! It's not that hard to just naturally lock your subject into the thirds position. After doing it so much, I almost seem incapable of not taking photos that way any longer.
I really like Panasonic though, I've got the FX-07 as my smaller everyday camera and I love it. Great features (though not much in terms of manual control) and a nice wide-angle lens. I've never loved just taking random snapshots so much.

Do Panasonic digicam's STILL have the video format of .MOV ?
Cuz this was the only reason why I didn't buy a Lumix!

Okay, so they've got "features" and have "lots of megapixels and stuff." I get it already. What is even the point of a digital camera expo? Do you have sample images? Picture quality is kind of the important thing when it comes to cameras. THEN features. And pixels barely enter into it.

Is it meant to be Lumixes or Lumices?
Ah well... Firefox just red-underlined both of them...
Oh.. although I personally like Canons (yea, Canon fanboy, whatever..).. I'm glad for the competition :) Keep it up camera makers~
