Just in case you thought that Sony was, you know, making up those snazzy new alpha DSLRs with articulating, live-view LCDs, we're here with a plethora of hands-on shots to prove that they're the real deal. Since you already know the specs by now -- 10.2 megapixel (a300) or 14.2 megapixel (a350) sensors, 2.7-inch screen, ISO up to 3200, and traditional CF slots -- we'll just let you get right to the eye candy below.
God forbid Sony should ever provide support for the current media formats. Back when CF was still THE standard, they refused to support it and only had MS slots on their cameras. Now that CF has given way to SD practically across the board, they're supporting CF, but certainly not SD. It seems there's there's just no hope for Sony to ever get with the game.
God forbid Sony sticks with the memory that works best for this type of camera, and has for many years. Last I checked Canon still uses CF cards in their entire line except for the new XSI. Is Canon behind in the game as well?
from what i know, pro DSLR's still use CF coz of their higher capacities. ofcourse, sdhc is catchin up. 32gb CF cards are available for quite a while now, whereas sandisk just released their 32gb sdhc card yesterday. as a result most DSLR's support CF rather than sd. well of course that is changing with the new canon EOS Rebel XSi which has support for only sdhc.
The swivel screen was my favorite feature of the Minolta Dimage A1 and A2. Saved me from laying flatout on the ground to get upshots many times. Also great when taking covert shots around the corner of a building. It was a huge disappointment when Minolta left it off the 7D.
It's great Sony sees the benefit of it and has added it back to the camera line.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."

Very nice. I love my A100, wish I had the cash to upgrade.
