Agfaphoto DV-5000G game-playing camera hands-on
Well we finally got our grubby mitts on the recently discovered Agfaphoto DV-5000G camera / camcorder / game player, and we've got pictures to prove it. Unfortunately for us, seeing the device in person didn't change what we already know is true -- you can't play NES games on it, thus making ownership of the device a way less attractive offer. Of course, that's our little niggle with the camera -- you may think it's just what the doctor ordered, and maybe these pictures will help you arrive at that decision.

You know, I couldn't give less of a damn whether it plays games well or not. How does it work at its primary function, as a camcorder/camera? The form factor looks good and the camera also looks pretty nice (certainly nicer than the competing Aiptek or DXG ones). Does it have an optical zoom, what's the video quality like, etc. etc.
you tell em patsy
good tip, next time I am shopping for a microwave oven I'll see if the feature set includes "nes emulator" because that what a microwave is known for, nuking food while playing 8-bit games...
That camera has a very BIG screen... sweet.
Can it play Doom?
hm... Nokia N93, N93i, N92 much?
Man, that's one fugly camera.
Niggle?
When I saw this camera on the site the other day my coworkers and I had a laugh that this camera was on any website. We work at the source by circuit city up in canada and we've had this exact camera in our stores for a few months, with the brand
"Centrios" (our home brand, but they just plaster their name on stuff) and boy does this camera suck.
I think I've sent more to our repair center than out the door with a customer, I don't even show people the camera.
The games were kinda neat, but you can get better games on your cell phone.

I really hate that form factor. They need to put a wider base on it so that the camera can stand up with the display extended.
