Those of you looking for a hybrid camera could do a lot worse than Kodak's new
EasyShare Z1012 IS: besides the handy optical image stabilization, you're also getting a 10 megapixel sensor and whopping 12x optical zoom. Not too shabby for a $300 cam, not too shabby at all. Check out the gallery below for all the angles.

For those of you who love irony, check out the third shot - the one of the marketing blurb stamped on the side of the lens...

Heh. Maybe Engadget needs a digicam with Image Stabilization...

I didn't think I'd every buy a digicam that was as large as this but for 249 with all those specs this could be something to just keep around the house.

Any word on image quality? That's the 95% of a camera.

Before you buy it, please put it up against a canon/nikon/sony... For the love of God, take this POS and actually hold it in your hands before you make your decision to purchase the Kodak monstrosity...
Oh god, and please don't get me started on teh EasyShare platform, which overtakes your computer like a virus, and tries to copy pictures of anything you stick into your computer (usb sticks, other cameras)
Please listen to me, or EasyShare will kill your pets, and put your children up for adoption, and you won't even know what happened.
