More AT&T wireless outages?

We've been receiving a steady stream of tips from users around the country today reporting that AT&T, which supposedly just got back up from some apparent sporadic outages spread across the nation, was (is?) back down again today. We haven't seen or heard much, and have yet to confirm whether things ever even fully came back up at all, but what say you? Still experiencing issues? We'll let you know what we hear back from AT&T -- as you may have heard, we had them build a Batline to Ralph's office for just such an occasion.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
I feel for the AT&T users. That said, what I really want to know is whether apple can claim that AT&T is breaching their contract and sell the iPhone to rest of us.
Long distance didn't work on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning in Chicago and EDGE didn't work mid-week.
EDGE is dead in Atlanta this morning, AGAIN!!!
I'm in Atlanta and have had no problems whatsoever with EDGE. I frequently wake up just to check e-mails (how's that for addiction?) and yeah, this morning (after 7 am) everything was going fine.
Dallas seems to be okayl.
All clear here in Rhode Island. Seem to be avoiding all of these problems so far.
Of course you avoided it, Rhode Island is tiny.
Edge and 3G/HSDPA is working normally in Farmington, MN, (near Minneapolis/St. Paul).
No problems in Bethesda/Rockville Maryland (suburbs of Washington DC) on voice or EDGE.
No problems at all. 3G working fine, although when it switches into EDGE, it was running slower than usual. Central/North, New Jersey area.
No problems here. Still five bars and I live in rural Ohio.
Honestly, stuff like this happens to all wireless carriers for a little while. All it takes is one misflipped switch somewhere. Making a big deal about it doesn't help. How about you guys cover the Sirus/XM merger?

I am currently having an EDGE outage. I'm in Northern NJ

I had some EDGE problems Feb 2nd in the afternoon in NYC. i was around 45th and 9th working and got no connection. then i went down to the apple store at west 14th and it was fine. but when i went back to 45th around 6:30 it wasn't working again! but was back up around 8pm or so and didn't go out again.
not saying i love at&t but i've had no abnormal problems
edge down 40% of the time this weekend.
I keep rebooting my iphone thinking it's my phone.

20 miles south of Milwaukee. There is no telling what this network is going to do. Most of last week I could not connect to EDGE at all. Then for two days no issues. Now, its a minute by minute thing. Hopefully I will be able to finish this and get it sent before I lose I'd again.
I ALWAYS have service issues. I live in a town that refuses to allow cell towers. But the areas where I normally have service have been down! I have been having problems everywhere from major highways to backwoods roads. It's so frustrating to be on a call and it drops and then I get the call back just in time to have it drop again. My cell phone has been rendered useless (unless you count annoying the piss out of me as a use).
I had no service at all on Friday, no voice or EDGE, but since then all is relativly smooth, EDGE seems to be a bit spotty. This is 30 miles north of Charleston,SC
Sounds like business as usual with my AT&T connection. Here's to the end of contracts.
First time I checked weather from the iPhone at 10:30am this morning (San Jose area), I got the "could not activate EDGE" message that I see once a month or so. But i retried again and it worked fine. So nothing really abnormal.
Back Up And Running In Atlanta. Residential T-1's in midtown were also down this morning but are back online as we speak.
Data was down in Atlanta yesterday. Voice ok.
Haven't had trouble in Marquette, Michigan (southern shore of Lake Superior; for those of you lacking in geography, northern Midwest). I guess I'm considered part of AT&T now that they bought out Cellular One...Let's see if the customer service improves at all :P
No problems here in Houston, Texas.
AT&T's data network was not working in Washington, DC at around 7pm today, February 3rd.
ExpressMail service has been spotty at best and non-existent most of the last week. Voice and data service has been fine here in San Antonio.
Anyone else with ExpressMail issues?

I am not diggin this poor performance from at&t. Actually, I have had 3 outtages in Chicagoland area since at&t bought back Cingular. I always think it is my phone. I'm thinkin it's time to read the contract again...
And when I say outtages, I mean voice and data down. Typically it has been only data though.
Dedicated internet fiber down 12 hours Saturday the 2nd, point to point fiber down as we speak. Birmingham AL. We never lost EDGE or 3G, which is what I'm using right now.
edge data has been down off and on since friday here in boston..
not having my contract in front of me, what kind of downtime are they allowed before we get to bitch and moan and get credit..

I had problems with data yesterday morning. Almost couldn't go to Manchester, NH for my poutine fix!!
Feb 5, 2008 ATT Cell Outage started 6:00 PM. I called ATT and they confirmed that a tower was out.
Damn, my EDGE has been out since around 7:30PM today. Here I was saying how glad I was that the Las Vegas area had not been affected by these outages that I've been hearing about and now its happened to me. I'm glad I'm still able to use Wi-Fi, make and recieve calls and text messages though, I would be so sad without it. I was gonna take my iPhone back today I was so frustated. Oh well, hopefully this won't happen again tomorrow.
AT&T EDGE out again this morning in NW Ohio? This is getting crazy!
