EA bets PS3 will best Xbox 360 sales in 2008
Hold onto your lunch, we're looking at quite the turnaround in fortunes for the PS3 if EA's sales predictions for 2008 hold true. With a hot new SKU on the shelves, an unlikely Halo killer, strong market share in Europe and that profitability milestone crossed, the PS3 is looking at its best shot at greatness since it landed. At least EA and Sony seem to think so. Sony has been naturally bullish about its latest "10 year life cycle" console, but now EA is jumping on board, predicting the box will sell between 9.5 million and 11.5 million units this year, compared to 6 million to 8 million for Microsoft's Xbox 360. Most of that margin is expected to be found in Europe, to the tune of 5 million or so over the 360. Of course, there's one more factor here: EA predicts between 12 million and 14 million in Wii sales -- better luck next time, guys.

Its a bit odd to call CoD4 a Halo killer in this context, as the game is cross-platform.
*Shrugs* I don't care for predictions. We'll see for ourselves. Besides, doesn't affact my life tbh, haha.
I think they're reffereing the the one week in January when CoD4 beat Halo3 in gametime on xbox live.
PS3 might sell more consoles only because people who're going to buy a 360 already have.
I have a wii and a 360 but not a PS3 only because there aren't any great games out for PS3 yet. (at least none that are PS3 exclusive)
Aye. I just find it odd that in a PS3 supporting post that they use a cross-platform game and stats as ammunition? I'll wait for a 10 million+ selling PS3 exclusive before I'm convinced, haha.
(Personally I can't stand Halo =]).
brendan, ps3 will sell more but most likely mostly due to the fact it has blue ray and blueray is now winning. so it seems more cost effective to buy a ps3 rather than stand alone player.
it has LESS to due with xbox vs ps3, and MORE to do with hd dvd vs blue ray. EA prob knows this and just wants to look uber smart.
In other news, I predict the sun will rise tomorrow.
All that matters to me is that the 360 has great games out at the moment, and plenty more to come, I might consider a PS3 when it has some worthwhile games and an online service that can rival Xbox Live.
It's more likely that it will more console because the system is going to be forced down consumers' throats for 10 years. Is anyone starting to think Sony says it sells its systems for 10 years because its development team can not come up with its own ideas that will sell systems?
@Garst: Uhhhh, no. It's because Sony are going to be selling it for 10 years! If you look at Sony, they have an overlap between consoles for a little while until the new console reaches a mainstream price point and has an surge in uptake (such as what Sony and EA are anticipating for 2008).
On the other hand, Microsoft release new console, old console gets dropped instantly. At least in New Zealand, as soon as the XB360 was out, you could no longer buy Xbox accessories or games, and it had only been out for three years. Then you get customers who are annoyed that they shelled out for a console with such an extremely short lifespan.
Backwards Compatibility FTW.
@ dj-kenpo
theres nothing stopping MS from dropping HD-DVD and releasing a blue-ray add-on for the 360.
and after watching the Super Bowl, i'm not so sure the sun will rise tommorow...
Boom!
Soon your comment will take it's rightful place among the "i for one welcome..." comments.
I for one welcome our Boom overlords
You mean beat?
And I doubti t.
"Best" is the correct term.
...
No.
I'm sure the PS3 will outsell Xbox360 in 2008.
#1 The Xbox360's market penetration is already above average - most people into these video game consoles already purchased a 360 and have been either waiting for the Dual Shock 3, or just saving money to afford the new $400 PS3.
#2 Metal Gear Solid 4 will sell systems
#3 People who recently bought an HDTV will want a low cost Blu Ray solution as suppossed to the OUTGOING HDDVD format which you'd have to buy a $179 Xbox360 addon to use.
#4 The Bush Tax Rebate will ensure people who've worked have extra cash to shell out on a device this expensive (while also ensuring America's budget deficit rises $3 Trillion.
Blu-Ray is the biggest reason why I'm getting one over a 360.
I think you nailed it. I have a 1080p TV and had already bought a 360 Elite because it was the game console I wanted. I'm no MS fan, but who cares-- it works great and had the games I wanted. It also doubles as a media center for me, pulling video off of my Mac to play on the TV.
However, I've always been in the BluRay camp but avoided buying a next-gen player until they were sub-$500, and a winner was apparent. Now I'll be picking up a BluRay player sometime soon, and, surprise surprise, the PS3 suddenly looks really attractive. Who wouldn't want a free game console with their BluRay movie player?
The 360's early lead is just that. Almost everyone who wants a next-gen console has already bought one, and they seem to have broken towards the 360. Most of the remaining purchases will be second consoles, and the PS3 will clean up with its BluRay player -- which will also tilt the game for those people who haven't bought a console yet.
Hell, I just bought one as a second console, mainly because of it's Blu-Ray drive. But I don't think you're right about the "people who want one already have one" argument. Lots of people don't even have an HDTV yet. The initial boom is long past, but these consoles have years to keep on selling strongly.
If Microsoft had installed HD-DVD players in their 360s, then it'd be a slightly different story. (Take that for what you will)
This makes the PS3 a little more valuable when you take into account its Blu-Ray functionality. But, to those who are saying "I'm buying the PS3 mainly to watch movies.." is fine, yes, however, it also bothers me a bit. Are those people going to at least play the games and use its other media capabilities too? After all, it's pretty powerful and can do other things. Just curious.
btw- microsoft is releasing an hd-dvd/blu-ray drive later this year for xbox add-on. so, don't buy a PS3 solely for a blu-ray player (and for the fact that Sony uses PS3's to skew Blu-ray statistics).
@LiQuiD_FuSioN
I use it for gaming and movies. I said mainly Blu-Ray because I have a lot of favorite games for my 360. But I am increasingly impressed by the whole console overall. I have already transfered my music and movies over to it, and I have tried out Ubuntu on it. I have a few games for it, but nothing great yet...
"The 360's early lead is just that. Almost everyone who wants a next-gen console has already bought one."
This isn't true at all. If anything, the PS2 should've shown you that consoles can have lives right up until the point at which their replacement comes out
Yes it will, BUT Metal Gear Solid 4 will be out for Xbox 360 as well.
Or you mean Bet?
...for me, Blu Ray was the ONLY reason
As for "HALO KILLER"... Halo3 wasn't really that good of a game... CALL OF DUTY 4 was a HALO Killer. I haven't touched Halo3 (or looked in its direction) since I got CoD4.
The Halo series has been paling since the groundbreaking original. CoD has only been getting better. Not to mention the fact that a SLEW of FPS were released in November (or around it)
Bioshock
Soldier of Fortune Payback
Time Shift
CoD4
Crysis, etc,etc
You forgot the Orange Box, which is awesome, and playable on average (not stupidly expensive) PCs
Soldier of Fortune Payback sucked. Halo 3 was a lot of hype (Halo 3 - Finish the hype!). Orange box rocks ("You will be missed"), Timeshift has a lot of promise. Crysis is just ridiculous as few people actually have a system that can play it. Bioshock wasn't as good as everyone said.
It's certainly agree that PS3 will outsell the 360 this year. The haters will always have their doubts. When Little Big Planet gets released in September, just try and stop me buying a PS3. Especially if that new exterior design comes by then.
Atrocious grammar or not, I know I'll be understood by some.
Hope MS don't let this heppen. Just reduce the xbox 360 price. U$ 230, 280 and 350 (arcade, Pro and Elite-Big).
What's this hoping business?
Agreeing fine, disagreeing fine - but hoping? That's merely fanboyism.
What is this "agreeing or disagreeing" business? Sounds like a bunch of bandwagon fanboyism for those without enough intelligence to formulate their own opinion.
He hopes you keep your idea of stucking to a PS3 offer when a childish game comes out, while he'd been months/years fragging people like me online for pure pleasure... sorry you will not be around, hitting you repeteadly with a RPG has to be fracking fantastic.
Because, you know, we gaming bastards like the real deal (in his case, a cheaper one for each room of the house)
Let people be, gentleman. Fanboys or not.
As Sony is winning the HD format war, extra features and improving the gaming line-up, PS3 seems to be a better buy than xbox360.
It will be if Sony can just edge it a bit cheaper. $399 is definitely in range for the die hards who love gaming, but still out of reach of the masses who made the PS2 so popular.
The PS3 certainly does seem like a better value. Built-in Wifi, built-in rechargeable battery, and a harddrive that is not only user-replaceable but capable of putting user music, videos, and images on. In contrast, Microsoft only allows you to put on their harddrive (it isn't really yours) what they decide to allow you to put on it. And right now that is marketplace content, and ripping audio CDs.
The PS3 makes a better multimedia hub than the 360 at this point in time.
I don't see where you get the "better multimedia hub" bit. Other than the high def format, the 360 does everything as well as or (in most, if not all cases) better than the PS3. Hard drive space isn't an issue when you can simply stream music, movies, pictures and more from network memory or a PC.
The only "media" issue that would concern hard drive space is downloadable movies and such, but then again, I don't see that the PS3 has that.
Both are great consoles, but your statement is flawed.
I think the better console is the one that does it's main purpose. TO PLAY GAMES. And the 360 has the best games, hands down.
The thing a lot of people miss is when someone compares Xbox360 to a PS3 is that OUT OF THE BOX the PS3 does offer more. Someone made the comment about how you can stream it from local servers or PC. Well unless all of that come out of the box it's not relevant to the comparison. Not everyone (believe it or not) has there own network or PC. So the storage question has to be asked. And what are you all going to do when Microsoft starts making their games downloadable? I mean MGS4 is around 50GB I hope you have a big drive. Since that's what Microsoft said is the future of the 360 DLG's. Oh and as far as having Blu-ray player for it last I heard talks fell through and Microsoft won't support Blu-Ray. Both systems have awesome games but personally I've never been a Microsoft backer. Cause they will nickel and dime you to death.
i for one welcome our xbox 360 beating ps3 overlords.
As much of a 360 fanboy as I am, I wouldn't be suprised if the PS3 narrows the sales gap a lot this year (though probably not by this much). With Halo 3 out of the way, the 360 doesn't have the exclusives it did in 2007, while Sony has MGS4, Grand Turismo, and Potential Final Fantasy. I'd probably get a PS3 should the price fall by anoth $50 - $100. Still, Microsoft could do something suprising like drop the 360's price the day GTA4 comes out. Would people buying a console for just that game really buy the one thats 100$ more?
I'm not so sure, the line up for the 360 seems decent this year, it's just not really hyped up much because everyone is still reeling from 2007. They have Rez, Splinter Cell, Resident Evil, Gears 2, Halo Wars, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, and obviously the Grand Theft Auto with a crap ton of extras.
Am I the only one who's just getting really tired of all of the same-old rehashed franchises? There's not a single game that either of you listed that's not a sequel in a long running game series.
Where are the new franchises?
When you consider the cost of the Wifi kit, Xbox Live, the ongoing reliability issues, the expense of batteries for the wireless controllers, and the absence of Blu Ray, I think it would take far more than a $100 drop to bring the 360 in line with the PS3's basic value proposition.
Pip
Yes, it's true, as a hardcore gamer I'm excited about the 360's lineup, but remember how small a fraction of the market belongs to the really hardcore. Gran Turismo will sell a lot more copies than Ninja Gaiden 2. Also, Residenet Evil 5 and Fallout 3 aren't exsclusives, and I don't think many are buying the console for Rez (though I'm loving that game). The only thing I could see giving the 360 a huge sales boost is a price drop right along with GTA4, and if Gears of War 2 does in fact come out this year (which I doubt). Many people who buy only GTA4, maybe Halo 3 and Madden, will look at the two consoles and buy the cheaper one. It's as simple as that (and one of the reasons for the Wiis ridiculous success).
@EJ - It costs £12 for the Play and charge pack for the 360's wireless controllers. As for the ongoing reliability issue, What ongoing issue? Had my 360 over a year and the only red lights I have seen is when I didn't plug my VGA cable in correctly. As for Blu-Ray I personally am not interested in HD discs yet. I was never one for buying DVDs anyway and the few HD films I have seen I have downloaded and streamed over my 360.
You are correct it is fanboyism. So what?
So grow up old man.
you're telling him to grow up in a thread about which video game console is the bestest? Thou doth protest too much, methinks.
Content. The Ps3 has nothing spectacular going for it... I have one and all it does is play Blu Ray for me (which it does a superb job with). My 360 is the machine that gets played.
As soon as Ps3 has content, they have a chance
Same - neither of my PS3's get much gaming usage, but I don't think that it ultimately makes a difference. People want the PS3. They might want it because it plays Blu-ray (me), they might want it because it streams divx beautifully (me), or in the future because of its interactive "Home," but the fact of the matter is
"The PS3 is an amazing piece of hardware that Sony continues to add functionality to. It is an integral part of the modern high-end home theater system with beautiful slide shows from the media card reader, beautiful picture quality from Blu-ray, wireless (Wifi, bluetooth), and phenomenal computational capabilities via the cell processor."
Yep. Though I do wish it wasn't so... ugly. You kinda need to hide it in the rack next to all those beautiful amplifiers and other gear
@gremlin
Was that quote taken directly from sony or did you find it somewhere else? I think its really funny that the quote mentions nothing about the gaming capabilities, but the PS3 is first and foremost a gaming console... or at least I thought it was
stop w /the content BS...seriously, have you looked at the titles coming out this year? seriously...take a look, and take a look at the 360 exlusives, and tell me honeslty, which is better
@Simba
Don't be a fanboyish child. Did you even comprehend my comment? Content RIGHT NOW sells boxes RIGHT NOW. And RIGHT NOW if you walk into Best Buy, guess who has ALL THE FREAKING CONTENT?
I'd welcome some kick ass exclusives (and let's be honest, the exclusives that fanboys laud on about are pretty pedestrian). Until then I have a cost effective Blu Ray player than can fold proteins.
I'm siding on the first console that gets hacked and starts running a media center app like Xbox Media Center.
As soon as I hear one of the two consoles gets that functionality, I'll buy ASAP.
Um, you realize that both of them play all of the major video formats, right? I stream all of my content to my PS3. What functionality is absent from these consoles that you're waiting for?
@Brent
I had no idea...
I've got a few friends who have both systems and never heard either talk about it. I'll have to look into it. Steaming HD content would rock.
Thanks for the heads up Brent!
Glad to help. I actually have both and I prefer PS3 as a media hub. Currently, the 360 probably has more great games, but the outlook is pretty good for PS3 games this year.
Hey guys..
Google "Microsoft TV" and then put your money were your mouth is.
Disc stored media is a thing of the past no disc will ever accomplish what DVD accomplished. Don't get me wrong they will establish a foothold but on loose ground.
The real future lies in IPTV and digital content. Ask iTunes, ask Netflix, ask xBox Live and they will all point you in the right direction. Not everyone that owns an HDTV buys HD movies.
And besides why would I pay for some B.S. HD DVD or BRd when I can just download it for free of the internet?
Earth to Engadget, PS3 shipped more consoles worldwide last year than the 360 and according to many websites, outsold the 360 worldwide.
"Uhh Earth to Matilda, I was at a day spa. Day, D-A-I-Y-E. Okay?"
First thing that popped to mind.
Well according to my made up, imaginary websites which I say exist yet don't link to them for citation, the Xbox 360 has sold 22 million units and will never beat the Playstation 3, who have sold 4 consoles.
This is fun.
I think its rather easy for them to predict a ten-year life span for the PS3 when they don't actually start fully supporting the console until the middle of the second year (and perhaps not even then).
I gave up being a Sony fan boy... They seem to make poor calls repeatedly.
I wish them well though, the PS3 has amazing potential...
My sentiments exactly. I want, and do believe, the PS3 to return to dominance in the near future. It's a marathon people, not a sprint.
No because Sony are headcrab zombie.
I don't think the Wii can have another Christmas like it did again. If the Wii is still out of stock for another holiday the people who still could not get one will turn on Nintendo in a heartbeat. Developers and publishers are scrambling to make Wii games to take advantage of the mass of people who bought the system, but the software sales for third party games just isn't there. There are a few gems in the Wii lineup but the majority of games available are just terrible. The PS3 actually has a better lineup.
I just finished Mario Galaxy, starting on Metroid, and finished Zelda last year. I can't honestly say that there is another game on the Wii that I really want to play right now. I keep looking at the Wii section in stores but I do not see anythign I want. My fiance wants WiiFit so that will probably be bought.
The XBOX 360 is a hardcore gamer system with very limited added value. Yes it can be a media extender, but that still means you need to set your computer up as a media center. A hassle a lot of people just do not want to bother with. You can buy a HD-DVD drive but that is looking worthless now. For the XBOX 360 to be truly successful it needs to move beyond the hardcore market, something that is very hard to do with its game lineup. If the 360 only sells 6-8 million in its third year it will be the second year in a row of market decline, not good.
People can bash the PS3 as much as they want but it does offer the best entertainment value for the buck. It is a rock solid, very well designed system and it does have a few AAA games and a very good library right now.
There have been multiple posts about how the PS3 offers a better value, but I'm not sure where this is coming from.
The 360 has the Xbox Live Video Marketplace that lets you watch television shows and movies, many of which in high definition. The PS3 doesn't have anything like this just yet.
The 360 also streams music and video over a network from a computer (and no it doesn't require Media Center on a PC). My PS3 is supposed to, but it hasn't ever worked.
The PS3 does have Blu-ray, but to be honest the movies cost so much that I never buy any of them, and I suspect a lot of consumers will be the same way. (What was the percentage of PS3 owners that even know it plays High Definition movies? 40%?)
In the future, if Sony gets their act together, they might have a console that has a better feature offering. But right now it definitely does not!
"The XBOX 360 is a hardcore gamer system with very limited added value. "
The 360 can do almost all of the same things the ps3 can do. It does HD-DVD not Blu-ray (and doesn't output the audio as well as the ps3 does). It doesn't let you copy any media files to the 360 hard drive (but that would force you to upgrade the ps3 hard drive when you run out of space). It doesn't let you upgrade the hard drive but there's also pretty much no need to do so. If your HDD on the ps3 is full, some games won't work unless you clear HDD space. And XBL is leaps and bounds greater than the PSN and PSN isn't catching up anytime soon.
It's a stretch to describe this as "very limited added value" without describing the ps3 identically.
@doug
"There have been multiple posts about how the PS3 offers a better value, but I'm not sure where this is coming from."
It's primarily due to the differences in hardware coupled with MS's policy of demanding an arm & a leg for accessories that push the price up on the system to original ps3 levels. The HD-DVD add on is a total rip off at $180, it shouldn't be priced higher than $80 now. Wifi should be 30-50 and the wireless headset should be the same price. But the hard drive? The 360 doesn't make it necessary to upgrade the hard drive whereas on the ps3, if you use some of that functionality mentioned before, you will run out of HDD space.
"The 360 also streams music and video over a network from a computer (and no it doesn't require Media Center on a PC). My PS3 is supposed to, but it hasn't ever worked."
This should work with WMP11. Tversity works as well. On both systems.
- I completely disagree with you. Nintendo fans, and the parents of little Nintendo fans, will do anything but "turn on Nintendo in a heartbeat". If the Wii shortage continues through next Christmas then that means the exact opposite of people turning on them because they can't find one.
- Give No More Heroes a shot, besides the party games it's one of the few non-Nintendo games that is pretty fun. But have you never heard of Smash Bros, or Mario Kart? Those two alone would keep Wii's off shelves even if there wasn't a shortage going on.
- All you need to stream videos, pictures and movies to the 360 is Windows Media Player 11. There's no need to "set your computer up as a media center". HD-DVD drive looking worthless right now? Sure future support MAY not be there, we'll see how it pans out. But I hope you enjoy watching Transformers and The Matrix in SD on DVD.
- I'll give PS3 a bang for the buck vote, obviously just because of the BR drive. But most of it's good games are just as good or better on the 360 right now.
In the US you have the online IPTV store. Not in the rest of the world. This is where the PS3 is outselling the 360 for a long time now. It is predicted that in the summer the PS3 will have a larger userbase than the 360 in Europe.
Also 5 major european countries will get the PVR and digital tv functionality. For Sony it is only just begun.
Honestly, I'd love to see the PS3 wipe the floor with the Xbox360. I just went through the nightmare of the RMA facility at Microsoft and I don't plan to buy any more games for my 360 because of it. My 360 breaks so I send it in for service. I get a new one back after about 3 weeks, which has the Red Ring of Death right out of the box. So I have to send that one back and wait another 3 weeks.
MS dropped the ball with their production quality of the Xbox360. I'm sticking with Sony and Nintendo from here on out. (or at least I'll try to, I'll probably loose my conviction for the issue in time)
The reason it'll probably outsell 360 and mainly in Europe is because alot of the people buying it don't have a clue.
I like the way I can access my PS3 from my PSP.
I that the built in Blu-Ray player is good value and works well.
All the multimedia features are good and with some decent firmware can become alot better.
The thing it is lacking however is a good amount of decent games out. (As much as fanboys can list off 10 games that have yet to be released, that could also be a load of rubbish)
My main problem for it selling well in Europe is that it's not selling well for the right reasons. The main group that will be buying it will be teenagers that can't won't be taking advantage of all the decent multimedia features and right 21+ year olds that won't either. The only reason any of them will be buying it is because of the brand name. Like I said, sheep.
On many occasions I've heard people talking about how the PS3 has a 60GB hard drive and that's why it's so good......you've got to be kidding me. There are many reason's it is good and that is not one of the ones that should be top of the list. Seeing as you can upgrade the hard drive anyway.
So I can see PS3 selling more than 360, especially in Europe but maybe not for the right reasons.
Hrm. What they haven't counted on is the sales of PS3 games. While a single example will never show a trend, I own both (XBOX 360 and PS3). I haven't purchased a single PS3 game (or Blu-Ray Disc) while though I have 7 games for 360.
I own a 360 and just bought a PS3 this weekend. 360 beats it hands down. More content and a better network. Side by side on a 61" Samsung LED DLP the graphics are the same. BluRay is the only reason this thing is selling. BluRay vs HDDVD, HDDVD is better more content on the disc. Whats the point of all that storage space if it is not being used. The SpiderMan3 BluRay that came with the PS3 is a good example. Just the movie no extras.
Yeah HDDVD rocks, but did it not died like a couple of weeks ago? I wonder why.
HDDVD rocks anyway though. Specially the HDDVD addon for the 360. The $180 price was kind of cheap and stupid people were complaining. Now the price is much much lower! Definitely the chance to jump on to the HDDVD train. Probably the last chance too.
MjW, there is no need for sarcasm. The HD-DVD doesn't have as much memory as a Blu-Ray disc, but it is all around better. Only fanboys will try to say otherwise.
The Blu-ray win will help as much as anything else. AFAIK, the PS3 is the only Blu-ray 2.0 compliant player too. If the redesign is true, that will help alot too. A price-drop would help too :) especially with that smaller/cheaper BR reader.
I'm one of those in the minority - I have a Wii but I haven't gotten either a 360 or a PS3 yet. The truth is they're still so much skrilla that it's been really tough to justify getting either one. And a lot of the good games are available for both platforms. There's a pretty small but very tantalizing selection of console -specific games on each one. The 360 does have more highly rated games, but it won't have Gran Turismo or Ratchet and Clank. I think I'm leaning towards the PS3 mostly because of those games and Blu Ray at this point.
eh. If you've played Bioshock and Halo 3, then you've seen all that the 360's exclusives have to offer.
I always predicted that...... fine i was surprised... or was i? i dont actually know... the human mind.... how?
If you say the only thing that holds down the PS3 is the content, and after the Halo year 2007 of the 360 with the content-less PS3(less than a year released in EU) outselling the 360 in PAL through 2007.
And with $ony making a profit in less than a year and M$oft needing 6 years to turn a profit.
Then looking the game line up for both in 2008 it makes sense the PS3 will outsell the 360.
I could be wrong though supporting this popular belief because a year ago it was a popular belief that the PS3 failed and has no future and look how things turned out.
I've got Ratchet and Clank and I'm not very impressed. It certainly doesn't live up to expectations.
This is a meaningless argument. Platform gaming is dead--Long Live The PC!!!!
yes!
ummm..... wait.... I gotta go spend ~ the price of an Xbox Arcade to upgrade my computer to play the latest/greatest....
Hahah. I kind of with you there, but then again, you can't find a decent PC for gaming for $399. The whole irony of this "hardcore gaming" argument is that the "hardcore gamers" complain about the $399 price tag. In other "hardcore" activities like "hardcore racing", racers don't complain about the cost of their cars and parts. It's all part of the "elitist" attitude they have. But when it comes to gaming... I can't explain why gamers are so "cheap".
Erm Bioshock is a 360 exclusive is it, i'll put the PC version that I have in my hand in the bin then because it obviously doesn't exist.
Engadget, could you please stop using 'best' as a verb. Please use the correct word, 'beat' instead.
Thank you.
The grammar police.
best:
tr.v., best·ed, best·ing, bests.
To get the better of; beat: “I'm a rough customer, I expect, but I know when I'm bested” (Nathanael West).
It also thought that the PSP would clear house against the DS and we all know how that one turned out...
HA! Funniest Engadget article ever.
wooo. wow you guys and your humor that's freaking hysterical.
The 360 is outpacing the Ps3 2-1 and the wii is ahead of the 360.
They can never catch up. Ever. And if they got within 5 million units 360 could just knock off 50 bucks and get back up to speed in a month.
I will take that bet, EA. What are you shelling out? Can I get in on that action at the tables in Vegas?
This is gonna be like taking candy from a baby.
Go EA! Your predictions make the world ... yawn.
Seriously, why do these idiot companies even bother announcing their silly predictions?
Oh yeah, press. And more press. Even if it's dumb.
Yeah, cuz Gears of War and Mass Effect were so much better on the PS3
bah, that was to be @ Durpa Man
Garst - No, I think you're the only one. And the system isn't being "forced down consumers throats"...Why do people whine about being forced to buy something? Sony isn't holding a gun to your head to buy their console.
YES THEY ARE
