You must doing something right to capture the attention of third party accessory makers. Meet Brando's $18 Car and $23 Travel Chargers for the Eee PC. Of course, ASUS already sells an official
travel charger so really, only the Car Charger is likely to garner any interest. Still, it does makes us wonder if a "Made for Eee" logo and licensing tithes are just around the corner?

Rather off topic, but Eeecosystem is a very, very cool name.

Why? just simply why?
darex @ Feb 4th 2008 9:33PM
Why? Why not!?
ASUS charges $40 for their charger.
This is $23.
Is that not a good enough reason?

I wouldn't mind having third party Eee products. My Eee bought locally comes with a Euro plug that doesn't fit quite well. It would be nice if I could buy other plugs.

Is it worse that he wrote that or that I automatically filter out spelling errors when reading most things on the internet?

the extra EE's really arent necessary
JC @ Feb 4th 2008 7:32AM
Yes they are, it's a little thing called called product recognition. By your reasoning, the "i" in front of every Mac product aren't necessary either.

welll.. are they

The PSU that comes with my Asus *is* a travel charger. At first glance it looks like a 3 PIN UK plug, but the UK plug is removable, revealing a US style adapter underneath. I love designs like this. It's only slightly larger than most phone chargers so it's perfect for travel.

That's interesting.
I have the US version and I expected it wasn't removable, but now that explains it.
Too bad they didn't include EU and UK clips for us to use when traveling. I wonder if they're available separately somewhere.
I'd love to see a photo of yours with the UK blades on and off to compare with mine.

I just want one company to make the Eee accessory I REALLY want: a USB-powered DVD drive that's designed to clip onto the bottom of the Eee as a sort of dock.

Umm, if Brando is selling this, how does that add to the Eee PC's legitamcy? Just like their corporate class USB warming slippers?
Chrismoo @ Feb 4th 2008 7:18PM
With ASUS putting up the cost of their additional adapters from $15 to $39 its great that a 3rd party has come on the scene to undercut them.
The car charger will also be very popular for those using the EEE for GPS and in car computing.
Great news!!
