Teclast T50 PMP offers capacitive multitouch
Teclast has always turned out some decent-if-unspectacular PMPs, and its latest, the T50, is basically more of the same -- but adds in a capacitive multitouch display. Apart from that, details are rather sketchy -- and the product shots pretty renderiffic -- so there's not much else to judge, but the promised RVVB, FLV, and dual independent audio processors will make this one to check out if it ever hits our shores.

that page is all bs. the nokia is thicker, fatter, and much more fragile. the battery life is sub par(i use my ipod for days w/o a charge) and you have to have a stylus to use it. Mp3 playback is accepted with the ipod, and you don't have to convert to mp4 or aac. so ha! stick that in your pipe and smoke!

hey bigot, my N800 lasts for several hours (14-18) of audio life, and 5-6 hours of video life
its NOT more fragile, ive dropped it several times (no jacket/case) on hardwood floor and concrete, never any real damage (just a ding and a scratch or 2)
u dont need a stylus to use the N800. The Canola app is in fact designed for finger use, with kinetic scrolling and all
it is thicker and fatter, but it has THAT much higher versatility, and the screen is that much bigger for viewing video.

...Why iPod earbuds? Those things are cheap as hell.
Ever used the Zune Premium Earbuds v1? Best $10 I ever spent (Buy.com)
The magnets are a nice touch, and the sound quality is amazing for such a low, low price.

Thanks for the tip on the Zune earbuds!
Buy.com only wants $12.24 for them but they also want $6.79 shipping (totalling $19.03) and it's not eligible for free shipping. I guess if you're a new Google Checkout customer, you can snag it for $9.03 though...
Dragod @ Feb 5th 2008 7:14PM
Heh, yep. I was a new Google checkout customer.

Engadget, you've made a mistake, you've already covered the Samsung P2 - oh...wait...
David @ Feb 5th 2008 5:05PM
I like how they use Lust, Caution to promote their product.

Samsung P2 + iPod Touch = Teclast T50

Hello iPhone clone. I was hoping my iPhone would help to get designers to get creative with new phones and technology, not just copy exactly what other people already had.
Argot @ Feb 5th 2008 10:23PM
Kind of like what Apple did when stole the design from the LG Prada?
dallas @ Feb 5th 2008 6:40PM
Uh, doesn't Apple like own all of the Patents for Capacitive Multi-touch hand held devises? I guess they are just hoping that they are so small they can run away from Apples lawyers.
Steffen Jobbs @ Feb 5th 2008 9:07PM
At least it's cheap. That should stop most of the complaints if it doesn't perform all that well.
joe23521 @ Feb 5th 2008 11:03PM
Looks pretty slick if you ask me.
