Ever since that
XPS 630 went all mid-level on us we've been on the hunt for a new gamer desktop heartthrob, and it looks like we've found one in the XPS 730 H2C from Dell. This one was semi-announced at CES, and the official image (along with a shot of the innards) is after the break, but a friendly tipster just hooked us up with some spy sots from what we can only assume are the bowels of Dell. The desktop looks to be a worthy successor to the
XPS 720, if perhaps a notch down in sexy, uses DDR3 memory, and is "at least" triple SLI ready. Obviously the H2C cooling will be a big draw for overclockers, but we're most excited about all those drive bays in front: floppy RAID here we come! No other specs or release info is available at the moment, but we're sure it'll spill out of Dell soon enough.
Blackbird looks nicer... the 720 looks nice.. the new 730.. doens't...
I work at the site this system is at and i can confirm it is infact a xps 730 not 630. Its not to be released until april. we are an outsourcer for dell xps support and have a lab with all the xps systems and by the way some people got in some deep shit for these photos and they took it away from us until it launches. its a shame i really wanted get a reall good look at the system but know i have to wait till april :(
That's what happens when you sign a non-disclosure agreement and you break it.... If you ask me, the guy who took these pictures was an idiot!
I am also a Dell employee and I can also confirm that this is in fact a 730. I have seen it personally and It is friggin amazing. Unfortunately I cannot disclose any information about it, all I can tell you is it will be worth the wait!
I would love to know who the idiot was that gave you guys this pic. no really he/she is the moron that cost our whole building any right to have cellphones or even mp3 players on the floor at work. In case you haven't guessed I work in the building where this pic was taken.
Why would it come out with 3-way SLI how come it wont come out with the 9800 GX2 or 9800 GTX it needs to work with alienware to build a gaming giant!!! The inside is very messy and this series better be better than the 720 H2C. It should come with the 9 series intel the 6850 is really outdated. We will just have to wait and see what dell will give us when it actually comes out!!!
i could say that "YES" this is a good system, but if you'll gonna think of troubleshooting this 730...naahh!!!...it'll be a big pain in your a#%, specially that the Master Control Board was placed at the right upper side of the system..it was covered by the optical drives and you need to unscrew all the optical drives and their case...about the speed??!! yes its fast..but the way the engineer built it...its the thing that i dont like.."ITS HARD TO DISMANTLE THIS SYSTEM!!"..and because of that you should ask for an onsite tech to help you...but good thing with it is that tech can easily identify the problem with 730!..thanks to the system board diagnostic light!

when is it comming out?
