Out of the box 1.1.3 iPhones now software unlockable

Mr. GEOrge HOTz did it again. He just loosed a world of hurt on AT&T with a software unlock for 1.1.3 iPhones. That's right, the software is said to work on any fresh from the Apple store, shrink-wrapped iPhone sporting the latest 1.1.3 firmware and 4.6 bootloader, something the AnySIM unlock can't do. GeoHot's instructions (and dev / elite team smack talk) posted after the break. We haven't tested yet so, as always, take care.

yes, this is what you have all been waiting for
now fixed to support 1.1.3

1. Download these:
gunlock and the secpack from http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ or the blog :)
the 4.02.13 fls from http://george.zjlotto.com/index.php/baseband/

2. Downgrade your phone to 1.0.2. See all the great tutorials online to do this.
Your baseband won't be downgraded, this is normal.
This will probably work on other versions too, but 1.0.2 doesn't lose wifi on bb access.

3. Kill CommCenter and run "gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls"

4. Reload CommCenter. For some reason my phone was in brick mode. Use the elite team bricktool to get out.

5. Enjoy your 1.1.2 OTB unlocked iPhone

Now who'd have thought it'd be this easy :)

This release is no thanks to elite/dev
I wish they would share like the old days.

OK, I can confirm that this WORKS after I downgraded OOB 1.1.2 to 1.0.2. However, when I upgrade to 1.1.1 the phone stops working. Back to 1.0.2 and it works again. Any tips?

You DON'T need to download to 1.0.2 IT WAS A TYPO!!!

1.1.2 WILL WORK... Just make your phone go into "AIRPLANE MODE" or take out the SIM.

You can add http://installer.iclarified.com to your sources in the Installer.app and use the package there to unlock it in 1 click. No need to downgrade. Available 1.1.2 and 1.1.3. I tried it and worked.

No, you can't, nor do you need to. If you want 1.1.3 on your jailbroken phone, just install OktoPrep, upgrade to 1.1.2 (shift + upgrade in iTunes then browse to the 1.1.2 ipsw), run the 1.1.2 jailbreak while the iPhone is connected, then install BSD Subsystem, 1.1.3 Offical Upgrader, and anySIM 1.2.1u from installer. Run anySIM and Upgrade from the phone and you should be good to go.

So I have an iPhone with 1.0.2 firmware and 03.14.08_G baseband (I assume the bootloader is 3.9, can't tell for sure) unlocked and jail broken. Can I use this to upgrade to 1.1.3 (skipping step 2), or does this unlock bring you back to 1.0.2 (which I already have)?

Many Thanks to this young Jedi who keeps the ideals of the true internet user alive. AT&T should have known not to try such a business tactic to restrict a phone just to their service only. I think the only reason Apple would comment on this new hack is to save face with AT&T but not due to the loss of sales. Right now if the iPhone was made available to the open market with Business capabilities like Godolink & some Office Applications it would sell more phones than any other on the market. GSM is needed but the global market would still utilize an EDGE phone that has such great usability and simplicity.

I'm not sure but I have a 04.03.13_G Version and I think there it is not working, but I did not try yet.
So has anybody tried it on such a modem version?

To answer a lot of questions above. This is what the new 'Unlock' DOES DO:

These are step by step instructions how to jailbreak and unlock almost any iPhone instantly! No downgrading then upgrading! You can do the unlock from 1.1.2 or 1.1.3. It will also jailbreak and activate as well as install Installer.app for you!

- Unlock and Imei changer will work ONLY on 4.6 BL (112 and 113 ootb).
- Jailbreak will work on any OS version.
- Activation will work on any OS version, except for youtube on 1.0.X.
