finally, the SE phone i've been dreaming of! i'm a little disappointed it'll be running windows, but hey...you can't have it all. this thing out of the box will do all the things i'm wanting my iphone to do, but won't. i think this phone will be a huge success and i can't wait to get it. sure, it's not as sexy as the iphone, but the specs are great! way to go SE!
Looks hot, but I gotta see it in action before I can get excited. I've owned a few SE phones (T300, T68, P800, P910) and the software has always been slow on the hardware. When I saw the iPhone ads, I was asking myself "Can it really move that smoothly, and be that bright? Is that what it will really be like to use it?" And the iPhone really works like they show it in the ads. If SE delivers, then cool - but I'm still on a 'wait and see' basis with them.
In addition, the iPhone is a solid device with a glass touch screen - not a pressure touch system like I had on my P800 and my P910, and wasn't as pleasant to use as my iPhone. I need to see better build-quality out of SE. I've spent a lot of money on SE hardware, so I feel qualified to say that - it's not a flame on SE out of the blue, I'm not trying to argue with people here, just pointing out my experiences. My SE phones were sorta cheap-feeling for $600 devices (never available through a carrier, had to buy them unlocked), and they eventually lost paint, tabs on the side of the flips, and the touch-screens got lame.
Like I said, I gotta see it in action and feel it before I get excited. Knowing SE's history, this thing will start showing up on Ebay sometime in the fall for $500, and never get picked up by a US carrier.
There's a demo on msmobiles for this device by Magnus Andersson, Global Product Manager for Xperia X1 phone

This will hold me over until the C-block Android phones arrive.
Good night, Apache 6700.
THIS ad is really ...... it really doesn't look like SONY-ERICSSON~~!! But it's interesting!! Wait for it~~
well~~ watch it demo video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z07e0MSvBAQ&feature=related
en~ after watch the full demo video and the offical web, I think it's interesting. But there is many questions need for answer: it uses WM, but as we all know WM's interface isn't what Xperia's looks like which is only for show with no major fanction! Well, it's really another HTC designed cell-phone with a HTC's alternative showing interface!! So, I don't think the new one is a great one, it's only a WM cell-phone with a face for show, and its heart is still WM~~ WHY cheers for it? ONLY for its screen, thanks god every cell-phone company can get the same screen!! THE result is Xperia is a normal one!! It's still SONY-ERICSSON with nothing!
@Johan S :: If it's a Windows Mobile device it should have IE, but Opera has is the best choice for mobile phone browsers. I'm hoping that I would be able to use Opera Mobile ^-^ I'd still be very happy with Opera Mini 9
Awesome ! Seems like Sony Ericson along with Windows Mobile has finally bridged the generation gap .....
Here is a video that is alot more revealing. He won't do some things people ask and he won't reveal certain things. I dunno if this is a winner, it doesn't change orientation by itself, you need to push a button.

I'm holding judgement until I can see the dial-pad, text-pad and music interface (I really don't like the WM6 Media player on my Blackjack). I may have to go with the iphone due to all my purchased music being in itunes. It looks like they may have rushed this phone because they can't show anything execpt the fancy floding windows.
