Samsung's HSDPA-equipped G810 slider gets official
Maybe it's just us, but the image pictured above sure looks a helluva lot sexier than the blurry depiction we saw of Samsung's G810 just last week. Along with just about everyone else in the mobile world, Samsung is making its striking do-it-all slider official at Mobile World Congress, and it's packin' quite the specs list. We're talking HSDPA, a 5-megapixel camera with face detection, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and image stabilization, a 2.6-inch QVGA display, built-in GPS / WiFi, a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack and a 12.9-millimeter-thick frame. All that's for sure is a March 2008 release for those in Europe, but word on the street pegs it right around €580 ($840).

looks a bit like the nokia n95
That Samsung looks a lot like the N70's casing!

Looks a lot like phone that has a glossy screen, video-calling camera, and a brushed aluminum casing with standard button layout.
Uhh, I mean a [insert phone vaguely resembling G810].
it's because it has the same OS as the nokia, stupid.
@Daniel
Oh, right. Because it has a standard OS operating on over 69* phones, it must have copied of all those phones.
Same thing with the XPERIA. Jeez, think about the hundreds of phones it must have mirrored.

P.S. FUCKING FAIL
hmm 12.9mm thick? mobile revie says its more than 20mm thick!
What os is this running.
It has S60v3 FP1 (Same as the Nokia N95)
Lots of errors/missing major stuff in that: It's not 12.9mm thick (that's the Samsung Soul) but between 17.9 and ~20mm, it has 3x optical zoom and a Xenon flash, etc etc...
I'm likely the "brushed steel" look a lot of phones are starting to sport. Actual brushed steel would be even nicer.
Mobile-review has a good hands-on article:

Personally, I'm more impressed by the hardware than the software (which is just a stock S60v3fp1, without any of those Nokia-specific goodies I've become accustomed to).
It sucks that all of these nice new phones are always marketed towards overseas. We get left with scraps!
Doesn't it seem important enough to mention the 3X optical zoom for the camera in the article??
But... but... It's just a direct rip of the N80, in every way! Same design, same operating system... WTF?!
Is it just me or the recent phones by Samsung seemed to look more and more like Nokia or Sony Ericsson. Apart from the Ultra Edition series, the othe phones had become more squarish in design.
It looks a lot like the "Nokia 6500 slide" to me
basically, no, it doesnt look like the n95 or n80, do you know why?
because they were the most ugliest phones ever, they were blocky and plastic, this phone has everything AND has a beautiful design, so what if it uses the same symbian OS ? Is samsung not allowed to use the latest Symbian OS just because nokia has used it? thank god my upgrade is soon, I will be getting one of these for sure
I prey for speedy arrival to england :)
