Engadget Mobile turns two!
It's hard to think back to a time when Peter and I longed to do our very own cellphone-centric Engadget spinoff -- those were the days that a 1GB microSD card was pretty impressive, HTC phones were frequently EDGE-only (the more things change...), and Ballmer was predicting $100 smartphones were still a year or two out. But exactly two years ago today we also finally launched Engadget Mobile, and it's been a crazy amount of fun watching it grow into its own as the go-to place for handset news ever since. Much love to Chris, Sean, and the rest of our regular EngMob contributors -- and, of course, the cellphone fanatics that keep coming back to feed their sick, wireless addiction.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!
Here's to another year of Apple product coverage and Sony, Microsoft, Blu Ray belittling !!!!
This was a triumph.
Im making a note here, Huge Success.
Its hard to overstate my satisfaction
(Have i gone to far?)
Happy Birthday!
I hope you know: The Cake is a lie.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS!
GLaDOS will not be amused [that you tole her cake]
Congratulations, but why it is only one candle ;)
because the cake is a lie.
only 16 more years!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! and I love the picture!
And btw, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
This is a triumph!
I'm making a note here, HUGE SUCCESS!
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
aperture science: we do what we must because we can
...for the good of all of us, except the ones who are dead, because theres no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying till you run outta cake...
Can someone explain to me why almost every article I see on engadget mobile is also on engadget?
Ya 4 realz...I second that...
Maybe now with the 2nd birfday, they can get their own coverage. You know, like the MWC.
on a week like MWC the cellphone news is the news so its on both pages, but usually not essential mobile news is not on the main engadget
I also want to point that out too! great stuff but keep 'em separate or find more stories.
Huge Success!
Happy B-day
So, the killers of the Wireless report celebrate one more year?
Your uppance will come, you hear me? Your uppance will come.
Gasp, does that mean it's illegal to look at it?
Excuse me, I resent you referring to my wireless addiction as anything but beautiful.
Congrats!
Now go and link up comment threads of EG and EGM, because seeing nobody comment in EGM threads when a EG thread also exists is a sad thing.
Seconded. Case in point--the 2 year birthday post has 22 (now 23) posts on Engadged and 4 on Engadget Mobile. 'Tis okay to cross post (though I do often wonder whether EM could just have been a filter on Engadget), but it really is bad when no one posts on EM since they are assured no one will read it (opting instead for the Engadget version of the forum).
Anyway, happy birthday!
I agree with you guys. Hardly anyone ever comments on the mobile site. I still visit it "just for the news" but it seems hardly anyone visits the mobile site.
It's not necessarily indicative of anything but audience size. Engadget classic is on any given day 10-20x the traffic.
Well that doesn't suprise me, but wouldn't that be in part because of this situation? I know I first came to EGM and then moved to EG because then there were more comments. Who came first, the chicken or the egg? ;-).
Besides, for searching through-old-post reasons, isn't it just plain unhandy to have two different comment threads on the same subject.
I know that sometimes and EGM tread has more info, but that still does not stand in the way of merging the comments.
Less phones on Engadget proper is always a good thing.
It's my birthday today too, turning 15!

I hope your cake isn't a lie.
Happy Birthday!!!!
Congrats
who's house are we throwing the party at?
I always read that logo as: Engadget iMobile
Yeah whenever I read it it comes out Engadget iMobile lol.
Out of curiosity, does EM have a mobile version of their site? It would seem fitting but I can't figure out how to google for it.
mobile.engadgetmobile.com but like all the mobile versions, it seems to come and go.
Add m. in front -- http://m.engadgetmobile.com/, http://m.engadgethd.com/ ...
Happy Birthday Engadget!!!
Contrats, indeed. You are the best place to go to for all things cellular!!! Thanks for all of your efforts!
Happy Birthday!
But I must warn you to be careful I think the cake is a lie. But if it isn't then you better watch out since they told me I would be baked and then there would be cake I hope you weren't baked.
Happy B-Day!
Least you could do is cross link and share comments from identical stories on both engadget and engadget mobile...
Hey, it looks like you beat Portal too. Mazel tov!
