Video: Intel's WiMax Segway takes geek, extreme
Pocket protector; check. Horn-rimmed glasses and button down collar; check. Now, if only you could find the perfect vehicle to transport your geek-ass around Mobile World Congress. Enter Intel's nerd-edition Segway. These gyroscopic rollers feature a built-in streaming camera, laptop with WiMAX, and giant flag so that aged jocks can hunt you down in the crowds. Not that you'd be too far from the Android prototype booths anyway, will ya? Video with appropriately dubbed circus music after the break.

Sometimes I regret having missed out on a chance to ride a segway. Other times, however...

Epic fail, once again.
Reader @ Feb 13th 2008 3:44AM
Epic fails are usually funny or at the least entirely embarrassing, this just qualifies as a standard fail.

Pretty cool, but don't you need to see where're you are going?
rwfu666 @ Feb 13th 2008 3:40AM
of course not!! those laptops must have GPS/google maps buit in somewhere!
who ever needs to tear their eyes from the screen ever again?
Justin @ Feb 13th 2008 4:07AM
Yea! All you gotta do is follow what your GPS tells you!
Stay on the train tracks? Sure!
Technex @ Feb 13th 2008 5:47PM
Whoops, sorry I didn't see you standing there, damn non-live GPS maps...

As dorky as a Segway is, I would still ride one. Course I wouldn't actually pay for one, but if one was a gift....well...
After all, Wrigley made his fortune in gum by sending one free stick to every household in the U.S.. Dean Kamen could learn a thing or two.

Lovely Gimmick, but will WiMAX actually allow reasonable level of Video when more then just few members are using same cell ?
Can it replace DVD level of video in my car?
(Not to mention HD)
