AT&T offers **free Option GT Ultra and GT Ultra Express HSUPA cards (**must sell soul)
Check it data fans, AT&T just announced a pair of new HSUPA LaptopConnect cards from Option. The GT Ultra goes type II PCMCIA while the GT Ultra Express is, you guessed it, destined for ExpressCard34 slots. Both cards are tri-band UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100MHz and quad-band GPRS/EDGE capable for BroadbandConnect speeds of about 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps on the way down or 500Kbps to 800Kbps back up the tubes. Those bands should get your suit connected in some 140 countries spanning the US, Europe, Japan and Korea. The cards are Mac and PC compatible and will set you back $50 0$ (for a limited time starting tomorrow) plus a two year contract of at least $60 per month. After you mail-in the appropriate rebate forms of course... which you'll probably forget to do.

You know, I am a long time ATT / Cingular / ATT customer, I had a Sierra Aircard with them for the last 9 months and just dumped it for a Sprint Aircard. ATT's limited area combined with dropped data connections were unbearable. The Sprint service so far offers better speeds, in more areas, and I have been connected as long as 13 continuos hours with no drops. THATS more like it for my $60 a month.

"...Check it data fans..." "Fans"? There are no AT&T fans only dissatisfied customers locked to multi year contracts under threat of ETFs of several hundred dollars and no way to transfer their contact lists to a new carrier even if they swallowed the ETF.
Please make the editorial correction. Thank you.
stevekalina @ Feb 14th 2008 9:32AM
its a 2 year agreement ( like every other carrier worth going to)
once again most carriers have contracts that have etfs and att's is 175 about the standard.
and how would they prevent you from transferring your contact list? your missinformed.
Since you have all this hate for att why do you advertise for them in your avatar?
itguy07 @ Feb 14th 2008 9:37AM
I guess I'm a fan. Benn with ATTingular for almost 4 years now. Rock solic reliability and performance and far exceeds the POS Verizon Wireless phone I carry for work.
joshman @ Feb 14th 2008 6:09PM
Funny. I've been out of contract with att since May of 06 and I am still with them. I was a customer and sold Sprint previously and would never go back to them or any other CDMA carrier.
Brodie @ Feb 14th 2008 8:38AM
Ohhhhhh.... You have to MAIL IN those rebate forms.... That's how they work.
Freek @ Feb 14th 2008 8:49AM
Jesus thats expensive! 25$ for 7.2/1 mbit with a free modem here in Sweden.
stevekalina @ Feb 14th 2008 9:33AM
this is for wireless (cellular)internet.
Freek @ Feb 14th 2008 9:40AM
Yeah, in sweden too. 3g and all that.
Tim @ Feb 14th 2008 9:40AM
Crap, I'd sure hate to see what Verizon is charging. Their data plans are always way more than AT&T.
Xultar @ Feb 14th 2008 9:55AM
Ahhh no. Why is it that companies with no soul think it is so easy for people to sell theirs.
My
AC860 works great and I am no longer on contract. So they can stick this offer where de-sun-don't shine.

What a coincidence - I just modeled and animated a 3d spin of this exact card (reference model here on my desk) last week for the new AT&T spots.
CanCar @ Feb 14th 2008 11:53AM
HSUPA is a GSM based standard developed as a 4g or Fourth Generation Cellular Internet Protocol. It promises about 4mbps down and about 1.2mbps upload speeds. lasvegaswekly.com

With all the free hotspots poping up, and att contributing to those, this thing is poinless. Throw it in the garbage RIGHT now. NOW. NOW!

This cards been recalled by AT&T as the drivers don't work and they are still selling it online and in some stores shame!
Daniel @ Feb 27th 2008 9:15AM
do you have a link for that recall info. i was just about to buy one
Serge Gojkovich @ Feb 27th 2008 10:05AM
ask to speak to the Data department at AT&T they have it onfile internally.
Jeremiah Mulford @ Mar 6th 2008 9:37AM
Serge your comments are false. there is NO RECALL. you are just bashing at&t. i have friends that work for them and I checked with them about it. they researched it and there is NO recall.
