Michael Bay singlehandedly wins the HD format war
Finally, Michael Bay has stepped down from Cheese Mountain to pontificate on the finer points of the HD DVD vs. Blu-ray war. Speaking from the inner-sanctum of his lair -- located equidistant from the Church of Scientology and a gigantic cotton candy stand -- Mr. Bay reminds us that, "Blu-ray's better, and I told everyone," then goes on to further prop himself by adding, "I was very vocal about it. I knew HD [DVD] was not going to make it." We're glad that Bay can sleep at night, safe in the knowledge that the mere "quality" of the formats decided the winner of this battle, rather than massive business partnerships fueled by the desire for marketshare. He wrapped up his message (actually given at an awards ceremony held by the Visual Effects Society) by saying, "Am I thrilled? It really wasn't my fight, but remember what I said in the press? I was kind of saying HD [DVD]'s going to lose... No one believed me." He then slammed a trophy he was receiving to the floor, pointed to the packed room, and yelled, "In your face, HD DVD!"

So how long until we get Transformers on Blu-ray then, Mr. Bay?
wasn't Transformers on HD-DVD only??
...I don't really care which format wins (although I do hate Sony's proprietary efforts), although the BluRay movies definitely have some encoding problems--and not all previous movies were even recorded in HD, so why bother rebuying older movies in HD?
MS should've made the x360 with HD-DVD drive standard...although I believe the slow seek times were the reason they didn't (2x or 4x read speed vs. DVD read speeds of 16x or whatever)....THEN HDDVD might've had a a chance. at least I can rent BD movies for my PS3 if/when the format succeeds...
Michael Bay singlehandedly wins the prize of being a giant cockbag.
But I still like Blu-Ray.
Whats with this digital distribution?
When I buy a movie I have store it physically and I'm bound by the space I have in my house, when it come to digital storage I'm limited to the 1's and 0's my hard drive can hold and we all all know no storage medium is reliable having a hard copy now is still a viable option and bandwidth come on let me stop there.
@Frank The Crank
"You should blame Toshiba for this mess. They should have joined the Bluray Alliance. They didn't and they got squashed. DVD was adopted quickly because their wasn't another competing format and it was substantially better than VHS. Thanks to Toshiba, the progression was delayed. And for that, they lose."
Wtf are you smoking? Seriously? Sony had a chance to end this war before it started, by just accepting HDi. Second, why is it Toshiba's fault? If I remember correctly HD DVD is supported by the DVD forum. So what? Since Sony left/refused to go to meets, its Toshiba fault for the war? Sony chose to have a war, by leaving the Forum. That was the reason for the Forum, to make sure there wasn't a format war and everything was agreed upon. (I mean the US. State Department was going to interven in the matters) Now it's two groups, BDA and DVD Forum and for some strange-ass reason Disney is still going to both and voting for HD DVD Technology advances. Why? It's like the entire Electronic industry is split between Sony and Toshiba little dispute. If were going to blame someone, blame both of them. This war was waged because 1. Toshiba was stubborn and was the head of the Forum (VHS Maker). 2. Sony was stubborn and didn't like the idea that MAJORITY RULED in Favor of HD DVD. Way to go both of you! I can't wait for the next format to replace this one. Is it going to be switched around? Sony is going to be the head of the BDA and Toshiba is going to do the same to sony what sony did to them? Damn there is alot of drama in Business.
Pearl Harbor sucked...
and so do you.
Fool. That's all I can say.
"Cartman gets his own theme park, and Michael Bay gets to keep making movies. It's true. There is no god." -Kyle, South Park.

I can't believe some of these SOBs think Michael Bay doesn't know film, WTF! He made Transformers for the love of god! And screw you if you dare hate on Transformers (Greatest cartoon ever). This is eating at me people. I have a PS3 and I can't play Transformers on my system, do you know how I feel, its eating me alive! Must go to my happy place now....
Well, he said Blu-ray would win, and Blu-ray won, so he gets to gloat about it. The only difference is that he can rub it in to the faces of more HD DVD supporters than I can, due to his public profile. Which I envy, since I don't actually know anyone in real life who actively supports HD DVD.
Now to put Transformers on blu-ray where it belongs : )
Who cares what MB has to say? He should concentrate on making decent movies with all the money studios give him.
