Lenovo's X300 gets splayed in detail
Sure, you probably caught a brief glimpse of the X300's innards earlier this morning, but the photos waiting for you in the read link below are what we nerds really crave. Some lucky cat in Los Angeles managed to wrap his paws around Lenovo's forthcoming machine, and rather than booting it up and keeping it a secret, he whipped out the pliers and went to work. You know the drill -- tap that link below for all the guts 'n bolts you can handle.

Why do they keep having posts about this laptop, is there something aswome about it that I'm missing?
Ultraportables are a hot topic right now for blogs. It draws out the "MacBook Air is a horrible piece of crap" crowd in droves. Hell, just look at the comments here. They're mostly about the MBA and the comparison of the X300 to it.

You forgot to mention that is also brings out the crazy nut job Apple zealots from their lairs to save the day...
I would love to get this, just the price is way out of my league. I wouldnt mind it not having an ssd, im not really into ssd yet. If they offer a cheaper version ill be all over it.
yeah what's the big deal here? It doesn't even have inking like the tablet pcs. At least that would catch my attention.
The MBAir and the x300 are in different classes. The x300 should probably be better compared to next weeks MBPro.
Why? similar size, similar weight, similar drives, similar screen, similar price. The PRO is more aptly pitted against the T6x series.
Has anyone thought about making an ultra portable with a thin battery that runs the length and width of the laptop? We save extra space on the laptop, but always have to carry the power cord/brick. Laptops will not be portable until this tether is cut. Lose the frecking brick. I wouldn't mind a 1.5in thick laptop with .5in of battery that runs for 10+ hours.
