Yeah, you know you want one. While we're rather skeptical about the "carabiner" aspects of this
Guitar Hero Carabiner -- forget your keychain, we've owned cars smaller than this thing -- it certainly manages to bring enough of those Guitar Hero rock star vibes along with to make it worth the $15 (just think of it as your present to yourself for not seeing Jumper this weekend). The sound is decent for this type of handheld, and we had little trouble rocking out with the tactile buttons and cheap ass LCD, but we'd probably prefer the Verizon version of this experience just so we could hear some real songs. Video is after the break.
Yes! Another great way to pollute the Earth with things we don't need.
You're wrong. Carabiners are useful for mountain climbing. And, what better way to spend time than by playing a cheap Guitar Hero knock off toy while 200 feet off the ground? You can pretend you're rocking out to your fans, the trees below you.
You're right. If I can't put my life in the hands of a guitar-shaped, sound cranking plastic Guitar Hero carabiner when I'm mountain climbing with my Guitar Hero band buddies, I don't know what else I can trust.
Wow, you understand sarcasm pretty well...
/sarcasm
hey paul i think the guy was responding to sarcasm with sarcasm....
This baby got me up Everest, I don't know what you're all being sarcastic about. While everyone else was freezing and bored I was rocking out.
Oh good. Thanks, Engadget.
Now that we have the obligatory Guitar Hero Carabiner news out of the way, can we get back to interesting things?
(since you guys didn't catch it last time I said this nearly verbatim, THIS IS A JOKE)
Wait why arent we seeing jumper?? Was it that bad?
Guitar Hero Carabiner. Guitar Hero Carabiner! GUITAR... HERO... CARABINER!!!
actually it was pretty badass :-) Go see it instead of buying this crapgadget for sure lol
I just watched it a few hours ago. Wasn't bad, but a let down.
whats funny is jumper is getting decent review from your everyday joe but bad critical reviews. screw those critics. These people have lost the value of entertainment. I saw jumper and while some things like the ending and a few scenes of the story I did not like, the action and style of the movie kept me entertained throughout. That means the movies was a success in my opinion, cause thats the job of a movie, to have you entertained for a couple hours. And it seems most people who actually see it feel about the same. stop hating on the movie.
For the discerning Engadget reader, peep The Onion (A.V. Club) write-up of “Jumper.”

Makes you wish Hayden had jumped OFF something before making this movie.
Same here, I saw Jumper on Saturday and actually enjoyed it.
If they make a game that actually teaches me to play a guitar, I'm in.
You could be in luck. But it's not really a game.
Buy an iphone. get this app.

fun!
"Craptacular"
Expect to see this in your local Dollar $tore very, very soon.
The people who came up with this did not even try :(
Reminds me of Pop'n Music.
jesus christ i cant believe that companies still make products with such a craptastic lcd screen as that!
That crap tastic LCD was the coolest thing for mobile gaming in the 90s. Brings back so many sweet memories of those crappy tiger electronic games i used to own as a kid.
Hey man, this is the '80s. That shit is the wave of the future.
I wasnt around for the 80's, but i hear it was a great time.
Wow, that was just, um, wow.
It seemed like they just had you randomly press the buttons. It really didn't even match the music. Kind of makes me sad.
I think I'll stick with Tap Tap Revolution on my iTouch if I need some Guitar Hero on the go.
dj max portable 5b mode
Your only reward for not seeing Jumper is ... not seeing Jumper. Hey-o!
When I saw coworkers watching the trailer last week, I said, "That looks almost as good as 'The Covenant.'" Was I right or was I super-uncannily right?
I'll stick to Pocket Sitar Hero.
One handed play makes it possible to play on the train, even when you are clinging to the outside of the train.
Whatever happened to just learning a real guitar? You can take a real guitar anywhere as well and people will pay to hear you play. Try doing that with guitar hero.
you know, I'm so sick of that argument.
"Why play games about stuff? Why not just do those actual things?"
Sure! I'll go play guitar, then I'll hop in my time machine (can't forget to put the crystals in) and fight in WWII, then I'll hop in a car and sideswipe some people, and I'll top it all off by blowing bubbles at my enemies and destroying them.
All this time I was thinking that I was playing games for the entertainment, but you've shown me the light. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to rearrange some blocks before they reach the ceiling.
The point of my post is that this device is extremely lame. If you love guitar hero so much that you want to take it places with you, then buy a real guitar instead of this piece of crap device.
None of this stuff will get you laid. And i quote the great (oh cmon) John Cougar Threename Mellencamp who said: Forget all abou that macho sh**t and learn how to play guitar. Puhlease
what has this world come to a knock off of a Knock off of a guitar
exactly!
