It has two radios, one for Sprints own CDMA service, and one for an optional GSM provider if you insert a SIM card. Basically if you travel overseas and you want to continue using your phone, you toss in say an Orange SIM card, and continue using your Sprint phone while you're in France.
It has 3G, just not on the GSM half of the phone, only EV-DO.
