We've gotten a flood of tips that the notoriously miserly Verizon is lining things up to offer unlimited calling plans. Starting Tuesday the 19th (of this month) should see the following plans sprout up:
- $100 - Nationwide Unlimited (voice)
- $120 - Nationwide Select Unlimited (voice, SMS, MMS)
- $140 - Nationwide Premium (voice, SMS, MMS, VZNav, VCAST, email)
- $150 - Nationwide Email and Messaging (voice, SMS, MMS, and data)
- $170 - Nationwide Global Email and Messaging (voice, SMS, MMS, and international data)
- $200 - Family plan with two lines, $100 per additional line.
That's not all though. There are even more perks and benefits in store for premium-paying unlimited users:
- 5GB cap on data is out
- No contract extension for current customers
- Available on one or two year agreements
- All plans include Mobile Web 2.0 portal access (skip it)
- No roaming or long distance
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Thats nothing,SunCom (now T-Mobile) have unlimited Voice and Data Plans here for 69.99, voice only Unlimited for $39.99. AT&T has unlimited Voice here for $49.99. Most plans here unlimited incoming calls starting at $9.99, still no iPhone, even having AT&T here doesnt qualify for iPhones.. Come on Apple, Puerto Rico is the US too!!!
@ john, we understand you don't like spending money based off your wireless carrier choices, to say metropcs is a good carrier is ridiculous, the reason verizon and sprint costs the most when it comes to data is because its the FASTEST on the market, t-mo and AT&T both operate on edge, and last i checked spending 30 bucks a month on dial up when i can just plug my phone line to the back of my PC for free is lunacy.
Sounds like a marketing gimmick - leak this "news" to buy some time because right now, everyone I know is switching away from Verizon. They sucked for too long, and didn't seem to care about treating their customers like cows in the yard.
My ATT 3G phone w/data plan is far more "open" than Verizon was, and costs less, and works just as well (for me)... the big secret for Verizon customers is how much better it is at the other carriers. Keep them hangingon with promises of a better future just around the corner, with stuff like this.
Hmm... that 99 dollars a month for unlimited everything on Helio doesn't look too bad right now.
But it's not someting that I'd really wanna switch from Verizon for...
100 dollars is a lot.
did any one ever hear of metro pcs http://www.metropcs.com

I get unlimited local and long distance, txt messaging, picture messaging, internet, email program,Map Quest Mobile, and live chat for $50.00 per month from metroPCS.
I'd be happy if they'd convert my 500 minutes, of which I use an average of maybe 100 per month into maybe 300 and unlimited texting. Don't think they are doing anyone a favor.
meh, I've been paying $30 for unlimited data and text (including 400 anytime minutes that I rarely use up) with SERO.
As for customer service, the few times I've had to call them to correct something (like being charged for a text message, or reporting a lost/stolen device) I have always reached a person who could help within a few minutes.
They are trying to copy the Europeans. The US providers see 2 markets, corporate and family, and forget the third market: singles. Singles don't need a plan with 5 garbage flip phones nor do they want to be limited to their Fave 5s. Singles value simplicity and quality at a reasonable price. Why doesn't one of the big 3 or 4 providers change the game and come up with a great plan that's affordable? And why hasn't T-Mobile upgraded their website in over 3 years?
I feel this doesn't beat unlimited 500 min, Txt, Pics, and Data for 30 dollars from Sprint. I can use any person network and I dont have to pay extra I might add. So no Jargon about coverage.
Why don't we have a system set up like in Japan?!? They have live conference video phones that use retinal scan ID and can be used to make purchases at liquor stores and vending machines to buy random girls panties! What a country! Seriously though great phones. Verizon needs to step it up and realize that I can barely eat let alone pay $100 a month for data, like that's a freakin discount. BITE ME!!!!!!!!!!
