So basically...you tried to correct him for correcting someone. But your correction of his correction is what needs a correction. Maybe everyone should stop correcting others :) Everyone misspells a word here or there.

You spelled it wrong. That makes us even.
And you SPELT spelled wrong. So much for getting back at him/her.
And then he (me) realises that spelled is correct and that spelt is the irregular form of the verb...oops. I take it all back, sorry.
