Still there are those who believe this Tuesday will see the launch of the Apple Robot Army, while many think that we're going to finally get a look at that iShrink shrink ray that's been long-rumored. i'm the same, i don't have a mac, but am tempted to get a mini, but it's been a while since they updated, and the (integrated) graphics card is quite old, so i'm holding out still

I like having one button on my macbook. I can press the button anywhere to click. Plus to right click just put two fingers on the pad and click. I find doing this easier and better than having two buttons, but thats just me...
I agree, right click would be nice. If they're going to have you use two fingers to do it why not get rid of the button all together & use one finger to click.
Gawd I get tired of calls for right-click on macbooks. Not only is it NEVER going to happen (since it would be ugly and decidedly un-Apple from a design standpoint), but most people who've used them and know about the two-finger click thing find that superior anyway. Steve, since I know you're reading this comment thread, please, KEEP IT TO ONE GIANT BUTTON. Thanks.
Mac will never ship anything with two buttons as default because having to hold down a key with your left hand before you click is _superior_.

The pasta will be shaped like little apples. The box will be pretty, but it will taste just like everything else. Apple fanboys will drive hundreds of miles and stand in line for hours just to a box. You will also have to purchase their new iPan to cook it. You will have to activate the iPan through iTunes just like the iPhone. Engadget will have 35 posts a day about how great it tastes, and then a month later there will be posts about how Tuesday they hope that "cupertino" (or whatever the hell you fanboys call it) updates the MACaroni and Cheese...

Apple will obviously be releasing their mind controlling software incorporated into a transformers sized robot which will in turn take over the world. They will also release new nanos with upgrade memory and price drops.
If you haven't noticed, Apple perfected mind-control some years ago. (Don't get mad-- I'm reading this, too.)
It'll be Time Capsule this week. It's in Best Buy's ad, and pre-orders ship by this Friday.
My sources tell me that there are TWO NEW SKUs for MBPs in Best Buy's system as of today! Prices are the same as the current units. This source has only been wrong once, so I'm banking on this.
For me, I'm waiting to upgrade my current MBP until they have a Blu-ray drive built-in. I'm not holding my breath for that on this update, though.

Have you referenced this source more than once? I've been on standby with my credit card out since January waiting for this update. My HP is limping to its death.
This guys is always right in that he doesn't lie--meaning that there ARE new SKU's up in his Best Buy (he's an employee). I'd bet anything on that.
Now, could that info itself at BB be fake or someone's stupid joke? Of course it could. As far as he knows the info is legit, but he hasn't seen the products themselves of course (he never would, as Apple wouldn't have shipped anything yet).
But either way, if there is no Blu-ray I'll sit it out until next time (grrrr).

Those who've been patient for the Penryn MBPro's will be happy campers tomorrow, although some of the other specs a couple have posted won't be there (will have to wait quite a while for those) and actually earlier than originally scheduled (due to some last minute tweaking of the SDK)
Basic spec upgrades really. The SDK, though, will really make you smile :)

Jobs said at the end of the macworld keynote as he summed up the new/updated Products " Thats just in the first two weeks, we still have 50 more to go". I think Apple is planning on having a new/updated product every week, something really minor even just so they can push up their stock just on speculation. You can't blame engadget for posting so much apple stuff. Some one has to hurrily email them that something apple is afoot the second the store goes down or returns back up.

If you look at Apple's refurb store, they have all iMacs on "Limited Time Special Price" which makes me thing they are going to introduce a spec update to that soon.

Why do so many people complain where there is an Apple product related story? Whether you're a fan or not, you have to admit that Apple is a pretty important company in the electronics and computer world (#3 in computer manufacturers, #1 in PMPs).
Why wouldn't it be news if Apple is releasing new products? Besides, who doesn't love a nice rumor?
My predictions:
I'd bet on an annoucement of the release of the iPhone SDK, giving a precise date of it's release to be next week, as apple hype is dying down.
The next week will involve the release of the SDK.
The one after that will be the release of the date when the first 3rd party apps can be uploaded through iTunes. (To take place on the 1st of April... which they will then say was a joke in the first place, and that the SDK released doesn't actually do anything.)
They may also announce that they are discontinuing the MacBook Pro, in their everlasting quest to grow the perfect macintosh apple, which will be released to the world in a major press conference, as it will not only end world hunger, but also cure cancer, control the minds of their iRobots, and simultaniously destroy Pluto, ending the question of whether or not to call it a planet.

I am quite sure that the days of mac with the white/black scheme are almost done. With most of the hardware being the brushed aluminum now, including all ipods and macs except for the macbook. I think a new macbook is on the prowl for a new release.
My prediction: Apple introduces 5 new products guaranteed to change the world. My stock drops in value anyway.

I don't own a mac (or any other apple hw, my 3rd gen 10gb ipod died and I haven't replaced it.) I'd like the option of a bluray drive on all of the apple lines that have optical drives. I'd buy a mac pro (not a macbook pro) if blueray was was an option.
What I'm really holding out for is the 3G iPhone.
Until one of these materializes, I'm not buying anything apple.

WTF are you guys talking about with the Robot Army and the iShrink. Jobs himself said the Robot Army was most likely 2010 and the iShrink is slated for Q1 2009. Sorry to disappoint.
So the big news is that Apple is merging with AT&T and the new company is buying Yahoo! and Starbucks. Starbucks is closing for the later part of the day tomorrow to rebrand the stores as Apple-T-Y! (pronounced Appletini). The only form of payment accepted will be your iTunes account and you will have to order wirelessly via your iPhone or Mac. AT&T stores will become Apple Express stores and won't have any sales people everything will be delivered to your house later that day by FedEx. Apple stores will replace the genius bar with a coffee bar.

Uhh... I don't know which part of the internet you guys hang around (mostly likely other Mac sites or Gizmodo), but I don't know of any non-Apple sites who have even mentioned Apple Tuesday...
TechNN has exactly zero articles related to it.
MacSurfer (which spawned TechNN, but is all Mac) also has exactly zero articles related to it - and just two articles on the SKUs showing up.
Mayhaps the Engadget writers might want to go forth and check out the REST of the Internet instead of staying in their cosy safe place? :)
